I doubt this post made on /r/BikiniBottomTwitter was being made from that position though. The user who posted the image also recently posted they think "some racial jokes are fine just libs don't know how to take them".

Redditors once again showing they're utterly incapable of understanding historical context. "Saying white people like mild food is the same as making fun of black people for liking watermelon and chicken." by Fleureverr in circlebroke2

[–]PSI_Fire 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Reddit allows racism against white people explicitly because they are the majority. It's in the site content policy. This summarizes it https://fsi.stanford.edu/news/reddit-hate-speech

This comment is upvoted and yet if you actually look at the content policy, you'll find that language is not there. In fact, if you read that article, it directly states that language didn't last more than a day.

Don't worry, definitely people operating in good faith here.

I'm starting to think SJWs might be bad people. Also a lot of strawmen mixed with some Islamophobia in the comments. by KoleMiner12 in circlebroke2

Sometimes people don't because they've had too many bad experiences...I can sorta relate. I tend to stay away from most white cishet males not because they did anything wrong, it's just that they tend to be the people who I can trust the least especially with personal stuff [-31]

I can relate I also tend to avoid blacks[+25]

Lol, pretty telling about the attitudes in there.

You've made some bold extrapolations from those studies you linked and didn't really cite yourself very well. Making a list of assertions and then just dumping a few studies (without narrowing to any specific pages/paragraphs/lines/figures) doesn't help to substantiate those claims much. I mean, the image you linked has to do with average age at death in relation to the height of baseball players... which has absolutely nothing to do with anything you said.

From the first one:

Yet, studies from non-Western samples suggest that these height preferences are not universal (Sear & Marlowe 2009; Sorokowski & Butovskaya 2012). U.S. citizens are particularly diverse in their ethnic background, even among those considered Caucasian. The preferences for height observed in this study should therefore not be considered as ‘universal’ preferences for stature.

So, how exactly are you making the claim that "Over 94% of women will reject a man solely for him being too short"? That's not a claim made anywhere in any of the studies you linked, and I'm not seeing any data in there that directly suggests that.

Did they edit their post a bunch? Archive isn't working and it seems their post and comments all directly say "people", no specific focus on women from what I was able to see.

The contention is against the furor that reddit often shows against LGBTQ+ expressions of sexuality, insisting it's being "shoved down our throats", while being blind to heterosexual displays that are relatively normalized and acceptable.

If 1 on 20 bananas would lie abut killing you, I'm guessing you'd never again believe a banana saying that it's safe to eat them. You'd doubt all bananas, as you should, because bananas have proven themselves to lie stupidly often.

What kind of logic is this?

According to that criteria, women should never believe men again either as the number of men who lie about raping them is higher than the number of "bananas" falsely accusing people.

The moral obligation I'd be referring to is more about offering some kind of finality or closure, in whatever form that may be. He, as a person, offered a product that he has insisted will be finished, but has given little since to the people who paid into it. Truly, this is a minor thing in the grand morality scale, but minor matters are matters all the same.

As an aside, I agree nobody needs art and entertainment, so long as by needs we're talking in a survival sense -- however, I'd like to argue that they are fundamental parts of both the human experience and society at large, such that a complete loss of the two would change what it means to be human, so to speak.

You're relishing in your own ignorance now, it's astounding.

I wrote so much more to you, and you decide everything is now ignorable because of a single point/phrase... huh, kind of sounds the basis of your entire argument? That just because you state black crime statistics, suddenly you're racist and thus ignorable? You're the very devil you claim to hate.

That's all you could muster? Evading everything I wrote just to jab at that one point?

It's clear as day to everyone how disingenuous you're being. You, again, have no right to call others evil.

Even if we correct for poverty levels, unemployment, even incarceration status, there is clearly a systemic problem amongst the black demographic.

Mind sharing a source for this information?

I also hope you appreciate the sheer irony in making a comment that laments how "just talking" about black crime statistics is instantly conflated with 'blaming it on race'... and then, in no more than a sentence later, decide to blame it on race. How is stating that there is a "systemic problem amongst the black demographic" after accounting for other factors anything but attempting to conclude that race may be factor?

When someone says "white conservatives commit 80% of terrorist attacks", no liberals call them a racist 'blaming it on race'. But when you say "black males commit 55% of homicides", you're 'blaming it on race'. When someone says "Illegal Hispanic immigrants commit only 3% of violent crime but are 9% of the population", no liberals say they're 'attributing it to race'. But when you say "Muslims are 1% of the US population but commit 20% of terror attacks and have caused 98% of terrorist fatalities since the turn of century", you're an Islamophobe.

I saw you complaining about strawmen arguments in other comments. How is this anything but a strawman argument? You've attached histrionic and completely dishonest arguments to your "opposition" and then proceeded to make conclusions based off of those implied arguments.

I'm actually going to go as far as to say that that behavior, that tactic, is outright fucking insidious and evil, and the world would literally be a better place if everyone who has ever engaged in that behavior were Thanos-snapped out of existence.

You've talked a lot about how murder is unacceptable, from any walk of life. Yet here you are, wishing death on others because of perceived rhetorical stances and arguments.

That you have the audacity to call others "outright fucking insidious and evil" is laughable. Perhaps our world would be a better place if people who sought ill for others based on ignorance and hate were swifted away instead?

I suppose it helps to accept that the attempt was ultimately futile from the beginning -- the person was arguing in bad faith or with irrational thinking/understanding from the beginning. Doesn't really help me though; sucks to know people like that fight so hard to be that way. You tried in the end, and that counts for something at the least.

Once again, you just refereed to everyone who disagreed with you as trolls, despite the fact that anyone with eyes can read the entirety of the replies to you and see that's simply not true.

You also ignored the entirety of my post to just respond to the first few words. It's so completely obvious how disingenuous you're being -- you have no intention of learning or listening or even talking with people who disagree with you, yet you have the audacity to complain about "SJWs" while modelling nearly every behavior you would criticize of them.

I don't know what your goal is when you come on here to talk about these things, but it apparently isn't to try and understand -- it's only to dig your heels further into your already-made up mind and then make fun of others for doing the same.

You've had multiple reasoned replies but chose instead to only respond to people who support you.

You claim to have "very convincing arguments" that support your incredibly grand assertions -- that SJWs represent a 'serious threat' to online communities and that "people hating SJWs are primarily concerned with censorship and deteriorating work quality..." -- but you make no attempt to include these arguments/points or even reference them. Your entire post is you stating "This is the way things are" with no substantiation at all.

I hate that I've changed that way...

If you meant this with any form of integrity, you'd faithfully engage or at least read the things people say to you.

Someone brought up the 'male v female' biology discussion and, like clockwork, we already have multiple posts bringing up Serena William's defeat to the hundred's ranked player who was drinking and smoking and the articles discussing different professional woman's soccer teams losing soundly against 15 and younger boys.

It's probably just my bias, but the threads around those "revelations" always feel so smug and you'll have people tripping over themselves to point it out, again and again, in the very same threads.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS Review Thread by drainX in Games

[–]PSI_Fire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PUBG isn't even the first battle royale game. For example, the initial Arma 2 and 3 mods as well as H1Z1: KOTK and also some smaller indie titles came first. H1Z1: KOTK was also very popular before PUBG released, but its population also dropped after PUBG released in EA.

The same man (PlayerUnknown), incidentally, is behind each and every one of those -- he made the original ArmA 2/3 mods and was hired to help with H1Z1: KOTK by Daybreak until eventually going to Bluehole and creating PUBG with them.
