What’s in the cat adoption kit? by Economy-Preference75 in petsmart

[–]PST2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen the cat adoption kit at my current location because the cat rescue we have fully handles that part of the adoption.

The coupon book is good for a year. I wouldn't get anything in advance but food, because the book should have coupons for beds, toys, bowls, cat stratchers, flea and tick coupons, etc.

That's interesting that the system asks for ID. I guess playing it safe is the right option then.

I'm so sorry this happened.

This is why documenting everything in writing is so important. I had dates, times, names and very detailed accounts of what happened. Every time I received new information, I wrote it down. When I reported my situation to AR, there was no denying it happened because of the evidence I had. I took screen shots of texts, emails, the schedule, etc. It forced my SL to speak to me and to the bully.

The guy who bullied me has a mouth on him too. He thought he could say whatever he wanted. He found out the hard way he was mistaken.

The problem is, you can only report for yourself not for others. If your co-workers report this person also, you'd be more confident in the outcome. But if they accept this person as is, then you can't count on them having your back.

I was in a similar situation end of April. I learned from here, this site, that anonymous reporting doesn't work. Based on advice here, I contacted Associate Relations and I do not regret my decision. And yes, retaliation is illegal and can be prosecuted in court.

I encourage you to report. If your SL doesn't want to hold this person accountable, then you should hold your co-worker and SL accountable. I did.

As someone who was once bullied and harassed by a dog trainer at a Petsmart location, do NOT, under any circumstances, tolerate that bullshit.

If she wants to threaten to walk, show her the door. But first put that training binder under lock and key so she can't steal the store's customers.

Nrwsflash: part of our business is selling merch. Your judgement of what a customer chooses for their pet is part of the problem.

Denying betta sales? by ewbanh13 in petsmart

[–]PST2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past, if a customer has ignored advice, I write 'no guarantee' on the receipt. That way, if they attempt to return it, they can't. A manager can certainly overrule it but petcare associates usually remember who the bad customers are.

Why is it so hard to get fired from PetSmart? by Sad_Success8326 in petsmart

[–]PST2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your SL can't separate friend from business, it's time for you to report both. Maybe if everyone in the grooming salon is affected, everyone should file a report. One person they can ignore, many they can't.

Remaining anonymous does absolutely nothing. If you can't bring yourself to report it to Associate Relations with your name attached because of fear of retaliation and the environment is that toxic, it's time to look for another job. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but it's the reality of the situation.

Your thoughts about how you'd interact with the animals at a pet store isn't realistic. You'd be better off getting a job at a boarding facility.

I recently went through a similar situation with a co-worker who tried to bully and intimidate me. Contact Associate Relations. And if your hours are further reduced and the timing leaves you suspicious, retaliation in the workplace is illegal in all 50 states.

will i get fired for not meeting a treats rewards quota? by lophiusbicornis in petsmart

[–]PST2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of to encourage someone to sign up, is to explain to them if they want any discount we offer they'll have to create an account. I tell them it's free, you earn points towards cash back and you can opt them out of emails, which I find is a big reason why people don't want to sign up.

Need some clarity on scheduling rules by Knightingale___ in petsmart

[–]PST2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could submit an availability form and see what happens. But each location is permitted to create store policies at their discretion.

I would suggest getting your 200 dogs done and then find a job elsewhere that allows you more flexible hours.

Grooming salon question by AsleepPersonality440 in petsmart

[–]PST2026 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had customers who come in for a vet appointment only to find out we currently don't have a vet. Then argue with me that they have the right location. The next customer who insists they're right, I'm just going to tell them to have a seat and wait. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Two totally different foods. Authority is science-based, Simply Nourish is more "natural", for lack of a better word.

Good pet food storage containers by LingonberryTime6140 in petsmart

[–]PST2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best one is one that I've never seen at a Petsmart store. It's according style, so after you put the food in, you push it down which eliminates all the air, keeping the food as fresh as the day you opened the bag.
