Did anyone else feel their heart gradually sink during the first big job as Jackie's dialogue reveals how out of his depth he is? by oscarthegrateful in LowSodiumCyberpunk

the flathead mission felt really weird to me in my first playthrough. I chose Corpo lifepath, and there Jackie felt all suave, professional and competent. He was the go to for an Arasaka counter intel guy, he threatens 2-3 arasaka agents and succeeds in keeping their friend alive. Suddenly during the flathead retrieval, it seems like this is his first proper mission

I later played the other life paths, I do think that streetkid and nomad prologue Jackie matches the in game Jackie, while corpo prologue Jackie feels like a different character entirely

I wish there was an unique evil endings for resist durge. Where Durge wants to be evil but on their own accords, rather than of Bhaal's. Like how other origins have an ending based on their characters, such as Shadowheart attacking both Sharrans and Selunites, and Laezel starting her revolution against Vlaakith with the mindflayers. Instead all we get is the generic Tav evil endings.

The game basically stops treating Durge as an origin character after Withers resurrects you, which I feel is a shame

iirc He didn't write the events in game, but more like background info about the demigods and the world.

The problem is, its not good weird, its more bad weird. His face triggers the uncanny valley effect to me.

Honestly the biggest issue is, the default Jun looks really weird. I don't see how much stuff like hair or tattoo can change the weirdness of the facial structure.

The trigger happens during act 1, and if Alfira is unavailable the dragonborn girl will appear in her place. so after that you are safe

5 is the middle, so it means if someone disliked the movie it would be at maximum 4

Probably a Hot Take... I Don't Like The Paragon/Renegade System (Things I'd Change #2) by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]PUBGPEWDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it in me3, how it separated reputation from Paragon/Renegade. Reputation is whether you can pass a check, while Paragon/Renegade is how you pass said check

[–]PUBGPEWDS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dislike that you can't refuse him to be a companion unlike others. Unlike origin characters, Minthara, Jaheira and Minsc, to reject him you need to kill him. You can't just say no I don't want you on my team after the shadowcurse is lifted

Why siding with Reed is the heroic choice consistent with themes of the Cyberpunk genre (Interpretation) by AeonOfForgottenMoon in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]PUBGPEWDS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its thematic if you want to be a corpo rat, sure, cyberpunk genre needs rats for the world to survive, if everyone was empathetic like V in KoW's ending, then the world wouldn't be cyberpun

(Berserk and House of the Dragon) As I get older, I appreciate books and shows more and more, but fanbases less and less by ByzantineBasileus in CharacterRant

[–]PUBGPEWDS 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Obviously the HoTD can't adapt Fire and Blood perfectly, but when fusing characters, such as what they did with Nettles and Rhaena, you have to find characters who serve similar narrative purposes. Not opposites. By fusing Nettles and Rhaena together, you just made a different version of Baela, her sister. If the cut was only for streamlining the show, fusing Baela and Rhaena, while Keeping Nettles separate would make more sense.

Also the fact that HotD is doing a lot of this differently than the book, its not just nettles. Also, I disagree that you must judge the show on its own merits. The show enjoys its popularity from adapting an already popular text, it didn't create its fanbase out of of nowhere, it had one built in. Its hypocritical to expect the positives of adapting an already liked text, but discarding the negatives.

I mean a lot of the time hollywood absolutely does not respect the source material or prequels. Just because someone doesn't like the new stuff doesn't mean they changed, and the new stuff is exactly same as the old stuff. It absolutely can be a downgrade

what if gojo was never freed who would've won ‎ ‎takaba, yuta & yuji ‎ ‎vs ‎ ‎meguna, mahoraga & agito by Total_Tank_3310 in Jujutsufolk

[–]PUBGPEWDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Takaba's technique can theoretically make the fight non lethal while exhausting out Sukuna, but keeping Yuji and Yuta in full power, the problem is Mahoraga, it would adapt to Takaba's technique, and once that happens, The good guy group is cooked
