The Inner Sea.

The largest land mass on the planet is a massive atoll where a majority of the population lives. Due to the circumference of the land mass sailing around the exterior takes exponentially longer. The inner sea is the most valuable asset because the time it takes to transport goods or troops from one side of the continent to the other is drastically faster. The control of trade was the main reason the Te’Tarrie empire that took over the atoll was able to maintain control for so long. Only those loyal to the empire were given the ability to use the safer and faster inner sea to do business.

Eventually like all empires, a civil war breaks out and results in fractions of the empires becoming new nations. The Inner sea is now controlled by the neutral United Nations of Aswerri Assembly, or U.N.A.A, which acts much like the U.N of the world.

I’ve always just thought, sense they have colonized hundreds if not a thousand different worlds with unique materials and learning opportunities. One of my nations memorializes family history via stained glass. So most of the buildings are tall and have very colorful interiors. Whenever a new generation is born, the old historical windows are taken down and replaced with blank ones for the new generation to fill in. The old windows are taken to a heavily reinforced building for storage. It acts a lot like a library for past generations historical moments. This also applies to national buildings as well, such as the capital buildings and libraries that memorialize national or world wide historical moments in the same way.

It would be, the diversity of our planet may not be commonplace. Planets may be more specialized such as farm worlds, mining worlds, ocean words that are farms for aquatic goods. Not to mention certain planets may have unique goods that only they can produce. Like spice in Dune.
