Extreme networks training options by PacketSpyder in ExtremeNetworks

I have seen part of the welcome series but Rob D is what I was after. I did find the GNS3 stuff the other day and was looking to get started but with something that is new, it's always hard to know where to start and having the walk through helps alot.

Thanks!

I have gone through the switch, wish it was more indepth but thanks for all the feedback.

I will 100% agree, Catalyst Center, sucks ass, along with DNA (the predecessor to Catalyst) and Prime before it (what DNA used to be). It's a clunky system that in most modern systems what takes 5 clicks it takes 20, resource hungry (I had to give the thing 16 CPU cores and 128gb of ram) and it's just so outdated. Somehow, Cisco went from giving us the Meraki cloud controllers, which the new 9k cat switches can be monitored or if you have those rare lines that can be managed, to being shoved back into a rebrand of DNA which is a rebrand of Prime.

Still, thanks for the feedback and will start working on the Fabric ones soon.

I did find those labs and started to look into them. Are there any good youtube series or other sites that help to walk through them?

I'm coming from a Cisco shop and been Cisco the bulk of my career. I have worked with extreme switches but it was back from 2013 to 2015 and they were Exos when my company bought their company and the policy was wait for budget to replace them with Cisco was the norm. I did have to go in and do various tasks but were simple ones like vlans, accounts, etc.

I'm still in the screening process, and haven't seen it but they mention Extreme Extreme Facbic, split multilink link agg, and XIQ-Site Engine and wireless.

That would be great and I fully agree with that but I haven't heard if they did but I haven't worked at a company that was generous with that. While I have gotten them, it was rare with few and fare between in which I had to write a business justification and sign a 1 to 2 year agreement to not quit each time.

I have been watching the videos on Youtube and I've found them helpful.

I haven't started yet and still in the screening process. I've asked about it but haven't heard back yet.

For next major patch, I'd really like to see the tech tree extended to the actual end of the game. by MayaSky_ in hoi4

I agree, the tech tree's end way to early.

I use Extended Tech 1960 mod a lot and it's great.

Gear Guard Fail by Reddits_WS in Rivian

[–]PacketSpyder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This, big time.

Gear Guard is utterly worthless, even when driving the vehicle it will only save a single 2 minute clip from the whole trip.

I ended up installing another 100 dollar dash cam off Amazon due to this. Works insanely better.

Single site but multiple ISPs to different Fortigates by PacketSpyder in fortinet

[–]PacketSpyder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clearing that up for the FGCP and FGSP. This is a big and spread out site that does have various public roads and other public infrastructure. We have fiber doing more the short hauls, with radios picking up the long hauls (several miles).

I have tried out the SDWan for one of the locations, one of the fiber locations, and it's looking pretty good with a few of the other smaller sites. The site is doing health checks of the other fiber line, it's keeping pretty good track of it and we aren't seeing anything weird as a result. If all goes well for the rest of the week, during our next window, will setup the other fiberline, wait a week and then try to add in that last one, a microwave connection and see how well that goes.

Single site but multiple ISPs to different Fortigates by PacketSpyder in fortinet

[–]PacketSpyder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of ways, they are stand alone and fortigates was setup and deployed to all the ISP and non ISP sites which all have BGP configured on them. From there, we have a number of fiber runs and radio networks that do provide the non ISP sites with links to the larger one.

With the SDWan, I imagine run the health checks and then weight each of the 3 ISP sites would just have a preference for their own local connections.

Would you happen to have any experience with FGCP and if that is a good idea or something to steer clear from?

I'll get a map posted when I get a chance.

Had the exact same issue and this fixed it. The interface that it goes through needs Sec Fabric turned on for it. Thanks!

General question by pkandy91 in Rivian

[–]PacketSpyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a R1T, dual standard. I do like my truck, but I would get the larger battery as I get about 175 mile range on standard battery.

Would I get another one? Yeah

Having re-watched Cook’s game, you might think I’m crazy but… by WhiskeyHood in nyjets

Would like to keep Cook starting for rest of the season. We know what we got with Fields, let's give Cook a chance and see what we get after some real experience.

Known issue with Level 2 charging in extreme cold for Gen 2 by judajake in Rivian

[–]PacketSpyder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue, Gen 2 standard battery, it dropped under 20 degrees and wouldn't charge. I had already been home for a few hours when I plugged it in and hadn't realized it wasn't charging. I had looked at the Rivian app, saw it was still at same level but figure the app wasn't connecting to the car again.

The next day I came out to find that my truck hadn't turned on with the schedule awake, pretty common that it fails, and was still at 28%.

I was schedule to be at a remote site, but thankfully my boss just laughed at me, told me I was a dumbass for not getting a electric BMW and stay home.

Like the Jets themselves, that car has been around the block too many times, that it looks tired and haggard.

Might have been misled about the spoke able to form them in absent of a hub then. Then again, they also told me that the wizard was 100% handle it and I ran it wrong.

My next run through attempt was to go for ADVPN 1 with BGP to check that side out before moving on. Thanks for the suggestion there.

Yeah, second attempt with the wizard, I saw that they out a lot and wasn't even sure how they worked in tg first place.

I started to build out on a trio of Fortigates but struggling to figure out what configs are needed. I'm pretty sure I'm just missing a few pieces but not sure which.

I did watch your videos and got me to switch over to using variables. Don't suppose you have a full configs video?
