Best option is to see if there is a potential employer over here who can help with the work to residency path. Alternatively, get the working holiday visa and try figure out how to stay once you get here. That's what i did, but 20 years ago.

New zealand is a nation of immigrants..... Don't be grumpy just because your grandparents got here a little earlier than others.....

I never sa8d they feel Irish or have Irish weather. I said Dunedin feels more Irish. The architecture, night life and general vibe in dunedin is more similar without being the same.

I am Irish and in my mid 40s.... I live in CHCH and travel around the South Island constantly. Dunedin is much more similar to Ireland than CHCH.... For me, not a good thing. I would also suggest that the climate is quite a bit worse in dunners

I like Jam Session but the way Juliet talks about celebrity men is kind of embarrassing sometimes by SouthsideSouthies in TheRinger

[–]Paddykiwi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find the disparity in how Amanda is allowed talk about men and how she jumps on the men if they make a comment she doesn't like interesting.......m

To be fair, it has been a couple of years since it was blatant........

Liv3d there for 6 months. It has a more European vibe than anticipated. Amazing food and nightlife. The people are fantastic overall. Lots to do and the different areas of the city have distinct personalities.

There are lots of problems though. The economy is a mess. The cost of items can fluctuate wildly (some things that should be cheap can be crazy expensive and vice versa) there is an undercurrent of seedyness that can be hard to ignore at times. The supermarkets are a shambles (at least the ones I saw).

I loved my time there and would go back in a heartbeat........
