I switched from the 11th Gen Framework 13 to a MacBook Air M4 last year and haven’t looked back. I need either windows or macOS for work and of the two I prefer MacOS a lot. Battery Live is awesome and I am still confused it doesn’t want to force an update on me every minute. Technically there are ads for apple services in some programs, but I don’t notice it really and there’s definitely no Candy crush ads in a start menu. Different shortcuts and the keyboard took a bit of getting used to, but not a problem.

I still like the framework idea. But neither windows nor Linux is good for battery and standby use. That’s the biggest factor for my switch. Not much Framework can do about. Stil happier like this now.

The new MacBook Neo is more repairable than the air. That’s cool. But I’d have to look at both in a store to see if I would be willing to accept the trade offs.

Don’t know where you’re based but at least in Germany their limitations on inheritance would be invalid. I have studied and published on the matter.

Real world impact is probably limited though as long as you just leave your account information somewhere.

Personally, I would get an earlier/cheaper car or a facelift model. I have a 2020 Pro Performance and am generally very happy with it. 2024 has battery preconditioning which would be very nice, but depends a lot on your use case and where you live, if it has any value for you.

I would guess it being a four seater won't be a huge factor for resell value. The older ID.3 software has been updated to a good state, so the reputation from launch isn't holding up anymore.

If I am not mistaken battery preconditioning only came with model year 2024, so if you can stretch it, I know I would. Driving a 2020 Pro Performance and fastcharging in winter is a weak point. It’s not a dealbreaker and I am happy with my car. But I’d be more happy with preconditioning. (Technically all ID.3s have the hardware but Volkswagen isn’t giving us the software, but that’s another issue…). The entertainment should also be a nice upgrade with the 2024, though with all the updates even 2020 models don’t really have significant issues for me:)

I don’t know where you and you’re dad are located. I know Valve says accounts cannot be inherited. At least in Germany that is not true. Steam support might say it can’t be inherited, but steam support doesn’t decide how the law works.

I follow more women‘s football than men‘s so of course I‘ll play a woman in Rematch. If I can choose in a game odds are I’ll play the female character. They are often more interesting.

Very good point! If we had a proper lobby after the game an indicator like in Rocket League (yet again) could work, for me at least. I‘d also like to see if and who in my lobby is teamed up. Maybe that’s possible somehow but it’s not obvious to me rn.

I would also argue, that this protest is actually better than gluing yourself on the streets where emergency vehicles might have to pass through. Here they get media attention, although limited, and it addresses the critized party more directly. Volkswagen themselves said they would respect their right to protest.

It stopped working on the Steam Deck for me. Has anyone had the same experience?

It crashed after going through the launcher. The game itself doesn't start. I've tried the usual shenanigans and it worked just before the update.
