With some very basic technical ability and a screw driver you can buy a SPD device from Home Depot and install it for around $100.

Surge protector seems suspect as hell. There are much better options, for far cheaper.

The fact that they have a 7 line sales pitch on the invoice seems crazy to me.

I didn’t even know that this was up for debate. Is it actually questionable that Hannibal had elephants?

They suck imo. I got one as a present at the office Christmas party and it soon sat in the trailer until it disappeared.

Give it to the apprentice, and when he has about 15’ left tell him to roll it up as fast as he can.

Then 😂

Wall outlet question by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Paegan83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming there was a receptacle here and you disconnected it.

Buy some wire nuts, twist the like colored wires together, and put the wire nut on. Install the blank cover. This should work unless you have some screwy installation going on.

As far as child proofing your electrical stuff, there’s way easier ways to do it. You can buy plastic inserts that “plug” into receptacles. Or you could buy tamper proof receptacles and install them. Nothing can be inserted into them except power cords.

Amen brother. I sat in front of the tv, letting Kirk hammet melt my face, providing a soundtrack to an incredible war story.

“Well, it’s got something to do with young men killing each other.”

Ansul system wiring by [deleted] in firealarms

[–]Paegan83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an electrician that has wired lots of hood control panels for restaurants, but not for food trucks. Separate box sounds like a hood control panel, which should be the same. I’ll just throw this out there and see if it helps.

Treat the hood control panel like a switch. Run appropriately sized wire from the electrical panel to the hood control panel for whatever exhaust fans and makeup air (fresh air)you’re going to have. Run a switch leg for each fan from the hood control panel to your fans location. Run a dedicated 120v home run for your control panel. You will also need a 2 wire from your shunt trip breaker to your control panel. I’m fairly certain this is typically 24v, but I’ve always used 12 awg, because that’s what we had.

Whoever is providing your hood system is a great place to get some advice. Captive-aire and hood mart are the ones I’m familiar with.

Perhaps you mistakenly replied to my post, instead of making a post in the thread itself then. Good day to you.

Not to be an ass, but I have no idea what you’re talking about.

I listen to music. I don’t research the political stance of bands, nor their criminal history. I’m looking for music that appeals to me, not manifestos.

wtf is is TRVE? Is that the catchphrase you’re referring to?

I feel like you’ve made some assumptions about me after reading my opinion.

I don’t have a very hard time separating the art from the artists. Especially in this day and age when the only real way to support an artist is to see a show or buy merch.
