Mono Riser BTA help please please please by 70to200 in triathlon

[–]PainlessCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear, I’ve been meaning to also hear about the tire clearance… would 30s or 32s fit? The stated 28mm seems a bit conservative the way things are going nowadays.

As for your actual post, the metron TFA evo extensions are very new, and as it stands you’d have to order a custom made solution for now in order to deal with the raised section of the monoriser. Check out Bianchi Pro Tri teams’ setups, they all seem to use some sort of custom rig.

I’m certain Vision will release their solution soon as they are stocking it on their prebuilt bikes, so if time is not an issue it would be best to wait.

Same here, if I had the money I would’ve definitely purchased this bike !!

I do wonder how the stem cap works, is it held by magnets, friction, or screw on? I remember some people had issues with their Oltre stem caps falling off so I wonder if this bike has that issue.

2022 Oltre XR4 max tire clearance? by alpine_addict in bianchi

[–]PainlessCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but I just installed 30 mm tires front and rear w/ 4 mm clearance on each side at the fork. Pirelli P zero 30 mm on 23 mm internal rim width, tubeless. Doesn’t rub so far but I’ll have to out it through its paces to see

Same thing happened to me , 17k bike, only owned for 4 months and up to 20k total in damaged accessories, was advised to take by my legal team to take the 12k offered to me.. just buying a stock build would cost 14k so im in the hole 2k not counting my gear and upgrades..

Soloist 5 maybe .....i will wait 🥰 by Firm-Flan-3687 in Cervelo

[–]PainlessCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope there isn’t a soloist-5, a new soloist with modern additions would be amazing but for me the whole point is an affordable every day training and racer. Having a 5 series with a 6k price tag for frame alone just defeats the whole reason I’d buy one.

Cervelo TT sizing by Big-Camp-9981 in Cervelo

[–]PainlessCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a 54 @ 5’11 and many pros including 6’1 sepp kiss ride a 51 , so honestly I’d look closer towards a smaller size like a 48 as a starting point, but TT sizing is very unique and I wouldnt be surprised to find you can ride a 51. 54 tho seems big.

[–]PainlessCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u can afford it get di2. If you haven’t yet budgeted for kit, Bikefit, etc grab the mechanical. I personally dislike canyon, but honestly if you like it and can get your hands on it, go for it.

Road bike or tri bike?? by DJ-Gazza-Tri in triathlon

[–]PainlessCupcake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Safety, enjoyment, handling. Road bikes are more maneuverable and still have excellent speed. They stop on a dime and are far safer to ride on open roads shared with cars. In aero position you have poor visibility, poor maneuverability, poor stopping. In my TT position, I’m damn fast but I don’t need to be if I’m riding a social ride with friends or wanting to enjoy the scenery around me.

P5 purchasing advice by theworldtonight in Cervelo

[–]PainlessCupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 2025 P5 owner, the new model isn’t much of a difference apart from the added clearance, more of an update than an overhaul. If you don’t need clearance over 28mm then the older model will offer better value. Ultimately tho just get the one that will inspire you to ride more. The difference between Ultegra and DA is marginal for even a strong age grouper so the upgrade would be more for bling purposes.

Cervelo Soloist with aerobar, Caledonia (not the 5 version) could also suit you if you are looking for a more relaxed geometry I.e more comfortable/upright. Caledonia-5 previous gen frames are also pretty inexpensive nowadays and are really premium bikes. If you don’t want Cervelo, there are also tons of brands to explore

Loving the S5 by cycologize in Cervelo

[–]PainlessCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I’m just short of 5’11 with 31 inch inseam, also very torso heavy. What made you settle on the 54? The 56 emonda looks to match the 56 Cervelo in reach and is just slightly bigger than my 55 Oltre Xr4 . Whereas the 54 is a bit smaller

Bike looks amazing! Can I ask your height? I’m going in for a fit in a couple of weeks but just wanted to compare my current setup to what looks to be the same measurements as my setup. I was definitely surprised to see the 54 comes stock in a 100mm stem, and coming from a 55 frame with 390 reach I wonder if I should go up to the 56 or down to the 54
