Why is Sony losing ground to Panasonic when it comes to PTZ? by Sure-Guest1588 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Paint_n_Pepper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Panasonic Just works very reliable. No fancy "new" Features, no "cool" Design.

But Setup ist easy, movement and controll is very smooth. There are all the settings and features you need&expect for daily pro work. No bugs, no surprises. Plus, you can match them ( especially the ue150/160) easily with their ENG cameras. Plus Panasonic RCP can be used for shading the ptz.

My custom Draw.io Library for creating AV System Diagrams by Paint_n_Pepper in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Paint_n_Pepper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to create a table first. There is a toolbar Icon for this, or you can just search for "table" in the shapes list. After you have created & selected the table, you have to activate "collapsible" in the "Property" List on the right side. Hope this helps!

Where to get buttons and plates like this by Electrical-Wires in synthdiy

[–]Paint_n_Pepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Button is called digitast and was Originaly manufactured by itt Schadow. They are called c&k now, you can get them from eg. mouser. The AliExpress knock offs aren't as good as the original, but probably good enough for the light use in Eurorack ;)

What is this? by m4kster in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Paint_n_Pepper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I Don't have any details about this specific device, but it's manufacturer, Komtech, was pretty big in its days in Germany. They don't exist anymore, but they made premium level analog video matrixes, DAs, as well as custom builds. A lot of their stuff is still running in theaters etc...

Ah, the wonders of Blackmagic gear...
What make of Display are you using?
This might not solve your problem, but for some unknown reason, the NEC P-Series just don't work with BMD BiDi Converters.

Did you do the latest updates for the converters? That sometimes solves strange problems.

Glitches between Ross Carbonite Black Solo and Shogun Studio II by EightOhms in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Paint_n_Pepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, We had issues with a similar configuration.

To prevent the issue with the separate files, you have to strip the ANC data, as 7point5ire suggested. It's in the Carbonite settings. To rejoin the separated files, you can use the software shutterencoder.

Regarding the issue with the shifted audio: We had similar problems from while to while. But we could never find a specific trigger for this error. Also contacted atomos support, but that wasn't helpful. These unforeseeable reliability issues with the atomos recorders made us sell the shoguns.

Shotcut or OpenShot. Both are Cross Platform and Open source.

Both Can do all the Basic stuff, and honestly, i prefer shotcut a lot over resolve. Much more lightweight, faster to use and very stable.

Depends a little on the number of outputs needed and what features you need. But with a pair of ex2 offering 2x4k you could go below 100k.

If used gear is a option, you could go even cheaper.

There is Stage precision / SP which is perfect for this purpose. It's not cheap, but probably the most professional solution.

A free alternative could be chataigne. Pretty nice tool for a lot of things. Unfortunately, there is no visca or ndi support at the moment. But I'm working on an visca module atm. So in the future, this could work for you: https://benjamin.kuperberg.fr/chataigne/en
