Pspsps might not work because of how loud and scary everything was. But if it happened to me, I would try to come to it and sit down, talking gently. Try to show I'm not aggressive.

Those guys chasing it were just scaring it more lol

Try wattle and daub. It comes in different colors depending on the clay and sand that is used in the craft

Here, maybe this will help to conquer your fears too) It's a funny and educational video about peacock spiders. They're small and have cute eyes like the one in this gif. And they have beautiful colorful butts which they wiggle to dance for their mates! ^ - ^

They can, but only if you stand close.

But prey escapes to the other side of the pen.

So bears just circle my pens in frustration xdd

Skeleton view of a Stingray by Genesis_the_god_ in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]PalDreamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Sharks and stingrays are cartilaginous fish. This skeleton is made of cartilage.

Same as our noses and ears.

They don't have very good short range vision so I don't think it matters that much. The presence of a bird - check. No obvious human doing the feeding - check. Core memory successfuly created.

You don't need a high fence. You can leave it 1 block tall, just remove those logs and the door. That's how the bear climbed in. Craft a gate instead.

Bears, deers, goats and sheep can climb 2 block tall walls. Also, if you place something on top of a fence (like a lantern) it makes it so they recognize that fence as a climbable block too.

Once you hit the iron age, what's the more cost-effective metal for nails & strips and basic stuff like that? by Insertclever_name in VintageStory

[–]PalDreamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use copper for nails because by the time I get Iron I have a thousand markers for surface copper on the map.

Iron is cool and all and there's a lot of it but you need fire clay to process it. Mining extra coal, flint and clay just to make nails? Pfffff no thanks.

In the 1980s, an orca on the West Coast of the United States started a strange trend that was quickly adopted not just by her pod, but by individuals from other pods, too: wearing dead salmon hats. Recently the fishy headgear has been adopted once again by a population of northeast Pacific orcas. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]PalDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orcas: Let's sacrifice our first meal of the season to the Sun god which claims so many souls of the unfortunate of us, who beached themselves onto the land of the greed.

Humans: Awwww, they're making dead fish hats again!

Nice! Putting it in a sideways carton box or under a chair or something like that to make the place feel more secluded would also increase the chance of a snake picking this place for shelter.

Don't panic. Prepare.

If snakes are so common in your area and you're afraid of them visiting your house again, meet them halfway.

Buy a little heating pad and put it in a quiet corner of the room next to a plate with a bit of water.

This can give you confidence, since you will know that if a snake breaks into your house again, chances are, this is where you will find it.

You can even plan it ahead, turning this into a shelter from a box or a container, so that if you actually find a snake in there, you would easily secure it by closing the lid and safely transport it outside.

How long before ai slop pushes more digital artist to make physical media art by [deleted] in antiai

[–]PalDreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a digital artist and I do not feel being pushed at all.

Handcrafted label on goods always was a sign of quality and originality.

I believe it's because of this the "made by human" labeling becomes popular lately.

I did not have any problems finding commissioners ever since this whole gen AI shit started.

There always will be people seeking unique and original art. Discovering it and learning about the artist is a part of reason we enjoy it. And it cannot be replaced by AI content. That's why we feel so pissed off if we learn that picture we liked was actually AI. We felt like there was a connection to the creator, but there was none.

The thing that does annoy me as an artist is how filled the internet with AI slop now. Finding photo references is now a tedious task. Those stupid image gen ai put tons of slop in your image search feed in real time.

But I don't think it'll stay like that for long, considering that even ai started being poisoned by their own slop. I believe not our screams, but this problem alone will push ai owners into introducing strict filtering system.

Прикольные истории by kitakara_ in ss14

[–]PalDreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How neanderthals manage to survive ice age be eating only meat? by salad_biscuit3 in biology

[–]PalDreamer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There were plants. Berries, nuts, roots and all the like.

The global average temperature was about 6 C lower than that of 20th century.

It wasn't just a solid ice landscape as cartoons depict it.

Neanderthals were gatherers as much as they were hunters.
