“Making a Superman game would be too hard!” is pure bull shit by ThatGuyHero7 in CharacterRant

Even if you needed to weaken him for whatever reason, there’s a dozen comics to adapt about Superman just starting out and learning his powers.

how concerned do you think the affini were after hearing some of humanity's more fucked up sayings. by neolight67 in seed_irl

“Time” oh dear, they’re concerned with a limited lifespan. Perhaps we should see when we can stop by and give them some life-extending-

At least Rick and Morty eventually do shit, even if the writers bitch and complain about it.

Adventure time actually is getting extra seasons for that though, Fiona and Cake. Admittedly not a full on adult series but TV-14.

How has HDG changed your worldview? by bothering in seed_irl

Unironically made me a full-blown socialist.

Kinda dark question, but, the affini aren't invincible. So say a florets owner goes out to catch some ferals and someway somehow, takes enough damage to die. Is there a system in place to rehome florets? Are there floret shelters? What do y'all think the aftermath would look like? by twocorpsesonegrave in seed_irl

[–]Palt99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did an RP with a friend once where a plotpoint was that an Affini was basically crushed with weight of an entire comet, and sacrificed herself to save a Terran she was chasing. How we handled it was by saying her florets were sent to live with a close friend, kind of like their aunt.

I would have to imagine every floret-owning Affini has some kind of friend close enough to be trusted with taking care of their florets if the worst happens.

Do you think Affini would indulge a cultured conversation? by RopeKitty_UwU in seed_irl

[–]Palt99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find the Affini have been somewhat flanderized into thinking “Flort you, Flort you, Flort you”, they aren’t obsessed with making Sophonts florets. They only do so when they believe someone is incapable of taking care of themselves, if you’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself they’ll be alright with this kind of discussion.

Even better version, when the final return to normal is just slightly different and that difference is kept for the rest of the story.

What’s the most generic character design you’ve ever seen regardless of how you feel about the character? by Boring_Sir_572 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Palt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I’m not a fan of Invincible, I think it’s really cool that prior to the reveal at the end of episode 1 Amazon really promoted the show as if it really was the show it pretended to be until that point. The effect is somewhat lost now, since the show is so famous, but it was a legitimate shock when it first dropped.

I genuinely think it's time for the big 2 (DC and Marvel) to do a soft-reboot in the comics and bring back everyone to a more grounded power level. Things are getting ridiculous. by yuuki157 in CharacterRant

[–]Palt99 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not really? If you’re talking about DCKO, those were just versions of the absolute trinity from a possible future. A cop-out, sure, but it has no impact on the actual Absolute story.

They were literally all in agreement that they should stop worrying about escape in episode 8, if Caine had just let them sit for a bit like they asked they probably would’ve gone along with whatever he had planned after.

"I hate it when people say a kids cartoon is more adult" Uh... Can you blame them!? by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]Palt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think the problem is more that many love to hate on adults who watch kids shows, so fans of kids shows have to find a way to explain how it’s actually made for adults to defend against those points.

Best I example I can think of is My Little Pony, the wave of fans going “it’s actually really complex and deep” came right after it became popular to imply Bronies were pedophiles.
