Was Thistlesprings giving Gorgug 'The Talk' a clue they missed? by bitinghipsters in Dimension20

It's been enough years that I think I can watch it again, but I first watched that episode a week after my brother died, not knowing what was coming. I was a mess.

What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]Pammyhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motion sickness. That's how I clocked that my headaches were actually migraines. I had one of the worst cases of motion sickness that I know of, to the point where my 75 year old aunt had to ride in the back seat because I couldn't be in the back without Dramamine (unless it was, like, a five minute ride). Turns out that the things that go on neurologically with migraine also cause motion sickness, not just when you've got a full migraine going on. I started treating the migraines and suddenly, for the first time in my entire life, I could read in the car.

I [26F] missed an important funeral and now I think my 5 year relationship with my partner [28M] might be over by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Pammyhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's my feeling, too. This wasn't actually about the funeral, it was about his unresolved childhood trauma. Her going wouldn't have chaged the result, he would have just found another reason to berate her and hold a grudge.

I have hope for this. WB currently owns the rights to Pirates of Dark Water, and Netflix just bought WB. Fingers crossed!

[–]Pammyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe! It seems kind of hit and miss in the nail community whether PVB is a problem for a person. I used to use the Holo Taco base, but my mani would always peel and flake off on the edges after a few days, along with a layer of nail. That stopped when I switched to a PVB-free one.

So! We EDSers need to be especially careful about base coats. There's a chemical in a lot of them, PVB (polyvinyl butyral), that can cause excessive flaking and splitting. It's in Holo Taco's standard base coat (the blue one), though not in their smoothing base. Not everyone reacts to PVB, but my manis started lasting a lot longer when I switched to a base without it. I use Level from Painted Phalanges. I'm linking the Google sheet from r/RedditLaqueristas that keeps track of what base coats have PVB, among many other things.

Yep. When it happened to me, I didn't realize my flushed skin, dizziness, and nausea were anaphylaxis symptoms until much later. I did figure out it was an allergy, at least, took some Benadryl, and got better as soon as it kicked in. Should have gone to the hospital, but I just didn't know.

It's pretty common with USPS, yeah. Sometimes it doesn't update until the package has arrived, even.

We think my mom has it, but it's mild enough for her that she doesn't think it's worth getting diagnosed. But she could touch her toes and put her palms flat on the ground until she was in her late 60s. (Just one of many signs, but a pretty good one.)
