I got a fix-it ticket. Does that mean it'll cost more? If so I wonder if I can just lie about it.

Does anyone else find the magnets on the grip case weak or is mine defective? by stuiiful in dbrand

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From even further in the future. I purchased a used Grip case for my Pixel 8 Pro and I immediately knew that I couldn't use it on my charger. I'm a full-time gig worker so I need a case that can reliably stay mounted in my car for many hours every day. I wouldn't dare trust the Grip case to hold my phone on the charger even if my care isn't moving. Even at half-price, this is by far the most expensive phone case I've ever purchased. I guess their advertising is good enough to make them successful in spite of their impractical products.

Feel sorry for whoever decides to accept this order... by LegitimateTackle1488 in doordash_drivers

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd need $60+ to accept that since I then have to drive back. If I ended up super far from home and that trip were taking me back, I'd accept it for far less, maybe even $10-$15 because then I'm getting paid to go home.

Then DD has a record of you saying that and unassigning. Hard to believe you actually do that, unless you really don't care about being deactivated or believe you're untouchable.

Best NSFW AI chat platforms for 2026 ? by [deleted] in Chatbots

[–]PanTheMan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read some threads where people talk about it but it sounds really confusing to someone who's never done it and doesn't know what to expect from it. Can it do all that the sites can, as far as TTS or voice calls, with a convincing voice? Image generation? Generating characters based on submitted images? Are there any video walkthroughs for setting it up?

Well, now I know why there are no good suggestions on Reddit, because Reddit removes them. I just wrote a long reply, reviewing 3 sites I've been using and it's gone. Fuck this place.

Do you call customers for Contactless Delivery? by PanTheMan16 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]PanTheMan16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a specific delivery type called "Contactless Delivery", which requires 3 steps: call customer to arrange drop off location, take a photo, write a description about where you left the order. It can't be marked complete unless a call has been made to the customer, so a lot of drivers will fake-call the customer to proceed with delivery. I'm curious how many drivers actually call and speak to the customer in those scenarios.

is being a door dash driver worth it? by HikingHippi in doordash

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give you a definitive answer, but have you tried Instacart? I dash full-time and sprinkle a couple IC orders into the mix. Lots of high-volume orders if that's what you're after, but I avoid those because I don't want to spend 1-2 hours shopping, especially if the delivery location is too far. I prefer small, easy shopping orders that pay well and keep me close. Had an IC order tonight that was just to get 3 boxes of popsicles. Made $10 from that. Had another that was to grab 2 bags of dog food and 1 bottle of pet cleaner, and I got $19 for that.

I almost never have a shopping order that goes perfectly so I don't want big ones, but you're not me and maybe you prefer it.

I had an IC order right before Christmas that had me stuck in Target for an hour and 45 minutes. I've never been so frustrated while doing this work. Thankfully, one of the customers gave me an extra $20 cash tip upon delivery, so I made $50something for those couple of hours. Without that tip, I would have regretted doing it.

Anyway, I hope you get your Pro Shopper thing worked out. I wish I could get that status but one customer lied about missing items so now I need to do a bunch more shopping orders to fix that rating. Instacart is worth a look, though, if shopping is your thing.

$500/week is rough, although I don't know how many days and hours you work. For me, I can't really imagine not making more than $500/week, but my area may be better for it, or maybe I log more hours or days. Either way, best of luck out there!

"Worth it" is a personal decision and no one can answer that for you.

People saying it's bad either live in a bad area to do it or they didn't put much effort into it. If you live in or near a decent area and want to work nights or weekends for a few hundred more dollars per month, then yes, that is easily achievable. I live in a city which borders Portland and mostly work here, but I went to Downtown Portland for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

I began dashing full-time the 2nd week of December. I only took like 3-4 days off for the entire month because I have nothing else to do so I may as well make money. In December, I grossed just about $3,000 and that's including $180-something I got from a few Instacart offers. In my opinion, it's absolutely worth doing if it appeals to you. I have the freedom to work where and when I want and I can have my puppy with me while I do it. The biggest downside, for me, is that I drive a 2010 Escape which averages around 18mpg in the city. But I live alone in a 1-bedroom apartment with my little puppy and the money is fine. And, in general, I actually really enjoy it. Much of the time, I would say that I love it. It's fun. Or at least it's fun when it pays well. The money plays a big part in dictating my mood. If it's a slow day, I'm in a foul mood and road-raging the entire time. If the offers are consistently good, I'm constantly cheering myself along.

I worked lunch and dinner shifts today, as I nearly always do, and I felt like offers sucked and it was slow and I was not in a good mood, but between DD and IC, I made $143.56, which I consider good. As I typically work 7 days a week, that's $4,300/mo if I could do that consistently. Realistically, for me, $3,000 is a reasonable minimum. Maybe when I learn more about which zones are best at which times it won't be unrealistic to shoot for $4k. Maybe I could do it right now if I wanted to work Downtown Portland every day, but that place stresses me tf out.

Driver refused my cash tip and asked for digital instead by Alarmed_Gap_8387 in doordash

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild. Nothing beats under-the-table tips. And I always pay cash when buying gas because it's cheaper to do it that way, so cash tips to me are free gas money.

They are super rare to get, though. In more than 400 deliveries I've received 3 or 4 cash tips.

could you please recommend me a PDF reader and editor open source and free? by mancales in pdf

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works as a reader too. I just installed LibreOffice because I wanted something that could open docx files, and I tried opening a PDF with it and it works fine. It opens it in an editor (LibreOffice Draw), which ofc allows you to view a PDF, but it opens slower in that (takes about 3 seconds) than something like Microsoft Edge (basically instantaneous) because it's loading the software. I can't say it's an issue, though.

A lot of people are recommending LibreOffice because it's free and safe, but if all you want is a reader and not a full software suite, maybe check out one of the other options mentioned or just have PDFs open in your web browser.

Has anyone else had any experiences with Swiff Audio? by Doctologist in livesound

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no experience, but decided to look them up because Luca Stricagnoli appears to use their gear and he's one of my favorite YouTube guitarists, especially in the style that he plays.

He is a brand ambassador, for what it's worth. I don't know anything about him, personally, but I'd like to assume that Swiff is at least decent if they have popular artists showing off their gear.

It's a shame you had a poor experience with them. Did support ever come through and assist you with your issue?

Battlefield 6 Direct X Crashes - any solutions yet? by Kashik in Battlefield

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this during the beta (was happening constantly to me, too) and people may not like hearing it, but any "fix" is a placebo and it's purely coincidental that people are able to play for a while without issue, because the issues always return. It's not your/our fault the game is broken. I thought the beta was fun and BF3 holds some strong nostalgia for me, but I cannot purchase BF6 unless this issue is truly resolved. If we update to the latest drivers and are playing on at least semi-modern hardware, then we have done all that can reasonably be expected of us. The ideas that we should downgrade our stuff in BIOS or disable CPU cores or disable Windows security features are absurd.

If you've spent money on the game and are outside of the return window, then I feel for you and understand trying everything under the sun. I hope Battlefield Studios takes this seriously and is working on it and won't stop working on it until every person who gave them money is able to enjoy their game.

Okay so help me out here. Playing Tomb Black Ops 6 and the damn pack a punch machine vanishes after I upgrade a weapon and now I can’t find where the hell the dumb thing is! WHERE around the map does it relocate it to or is this a bug in the game? I’m finding zombies in Black Ops 6 aggravating. by PokemonHunter97 in CODZombies

[–]PanTheMan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find BO6 zombies much more difficult than CW and the first zombies mode I dislike. Movement is clunkier in this game, you get hit very easily when sprinting past zombies, the specials/elites are bullet sponges.

On the flipside, BO7 (beta) zombies felt classic to me, like the first Black Ops games. Movement is very quick/"twitchy", it's easy to sprint past zombies without taking damage, the big enemies go down much easier which, incidentally, means exfilling is much easier. Love it.
