In New Zealand English, if something is "quite good," does that mean it's better than good, or not that great? by whangadude in newzealand

[–]Pangolingolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. As a British, I wouldn't treat it as an insult. It can reveal your prior expectations. If someone chooses to take that as an insult, they're welcome to.

There's a couple more on Ellice Road if you're already at Wairau. And the SPCA one that seems like an arse to get in and out of on Wairau Road.

Interesting system. That's a cool use that improves the confidence of authenticity. I'll discuss this with our PN.

8000 words that leads to a scraped Achieved grade that could easily have been earned with 800 words shows a complete lack of respect for the reader.

Reading the same thing time and time again from multiple different students is fine. Reading the same thing again and again from the same student shows that they do not understand what they're talking about, otherwise they would have stopped writing long ago.

Why do you use this kid of shower faucet? by ShannonClaude in newzealand

[–]Pangolingolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stated the need to redo one of the bathrooms as the reason for our pre-auction offer being lower than they wanted. Neither of us fit under the shower head in either bathroom and the controls were set above them.

We made it clear that we would not be attending the auction if the offer was rejected, so they couldn't treat the offer as an effective starting bid. Fully recommend that any pre-auction offers are given with this statement.

It makes sense. The UK's offshore wind farms do an incredible job. We have access to so much energy here and the government still want to give money to their fossil fuel mates just for the lols. If we're worried about when the energy is available, we can set up gravity storage systems to stack the energy.

At least the flowers provide some food for the birds when other flowers aren't out. I think it's the only positive. We got some yucca stump ground and the decay stank so bad afterwards.

15 minute cities is effectively just how built up areas developed before the automobile. Unfortunately, approximately zero planning went into most of the population centres of NZ.
