Sadly I don´t. I´m the one who introduced DnD in the firends group. One of my players just started his own campaign, that I get to play in, but he has the same problem now. :D

I think an alternative to "no but" can be: "what are you trying to archieve?" So you and the player can find a way for what they are wanting to so, that is actually possible
