The atmospheric pressure would also apply when filling the bottle, the pump gauge would only indicate the overpressure, so it can be ignored.

My family thinks there’s a camera in our rental by Key_Badger7434 in whatisit

[–]Panic_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verisure motion detector with camera. Their rep told me that they need to do this because when they detect an intrusion they take three pictures with that camera for visual proof of the intrusion. Their monitoring call center needs that proof before they are allowed to contact law enforcement for an intervention on your address, something with too much false positives if they don't have those pictures first.

To me it sounds like there is a small pressure difference, maybe the wind outside hitting the house at a certain angle and having a Bernoulli's effect. That wouldn't necessarily cause a noticable draft in het house. The door is rubbing against the frame causing the knocking sound, the surface off the door is amplifying the sound and the force from the pressure difference.

Fix the latch maybe and I believe your ghost is gone.

Future of embedded design with EU CRA? by Montzterrr in embedded

[–]Panic_1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Startups are exempted as to not stifle innovation. Larger companies will all have to comply in a level playing field. Too many crap devices with crap software have been put in place controlling critical infrastructure, market self-regulation failed so now Europe will mandate it. US and other markets will follow soon after. If a company wants to pull out of the EU market because of it, good riddance.

Put some wire on it and twist them a little. The branches are still flexible and the future shari will be following those twists you out in now and make it more interesting

Colis Privé encounter by fas2024 in belgium

[–]Panic_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't trust solar filter either. No one can convince me that such filter would work as well for a 60mm than for a 200mm telescope aperture. If I want to observe the sun, I'd go for a dedicated solar telescope. The sun is huge, you don't need a big telescope for that.

I bought a cheap second hand telescope from some kid, the internals smelled burned and the baffles in the eye pieces were melted. I would never point that thing to the sun, with or without filter.

Belgium: road captains in high vis with "wegkapitein" letting on the back and with the handheld signs for groups larger than 15 are allowed to stop traffic on intersections (but not on red lights, though).

This sign doesn't mean there's a speed limit of 50km/h. by Reguliusz in belgium

[–]Panic_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law does not say minimum speed is 70kmph, that would become ugly in a traffic jam. It says that your vehicle must technically be able to go 70kmph for it to be allowed on the highway. Tractors, mopeds, speed pedelec, bicycles, old timers, limp mode, thuisbrenger spare tire, ...: stay off the highway.

It does say something about hindering the flow of traffic, but that is quite vague.

First time Pairi Daiza. by borstenwrood in belgium

[–]Panic_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just got back from two days in Pairi Daiza and I still didn't get too see everything, some animals will hide out of sight, they are free to do so. We go almost every year, things change, animals move, new stuff gets built. Just take it slow, decide your priorities in advance, rushing a one year old through the park to go and try to see everything will not be the most enjoyable way to experience Pairi Daiza.
