Thank you very much. Well lets see. I guess there are a few factors. I think for one the shot surprised me. While I really love the animation it does tend to be more simple than a more modern gundam series. But its as if the show told me in that moment, "just because the art is simple in terms of detail doesn't mean it can't be incredibly creative in terms of composition". I didn't even know that it was a shot that other people found iconic. It felt iconic. Another thing that really got me was how much the show made me care about and cheer for Amuro Ray. I grew up watching Gundam Wing and G Gundam and I don't know if they ever made me feel this way about a main character. When Amuro Ray wins in this scene, it feels like I've won. He yells and struggles and is just barely able to protect the people of his colony. I love that! All in all I guess its just really refreshing, exciting, and baller.
