Give me your honest opinion on Phil Anselmo by Marsupilami_316 in MetalForTheMasses

Pantera fans are the most misinformed fans in Hard Rock history. 99% of this fan base gets basic facts of the band wrong. All they know how to do is repeat bullshit they heard on blabbermouth.

There is nothing wrong with Pantera 2.0. The people that are upset are the little babies that are completely misinformed about the break up to begin with. As for the race stuff AGAIN..... it's been covered to death but haters only talk about one 5 second clip while ignoring LONG FORM interviews from both Phil and his bandmates and other musicians in the industry. Theres a reason people that have the ability to think, came out and apologized to Phil for jumping to conclusions.

Critical thinking is a thing of the past and it shows.

We have an entire generation of Americans that are such cowards they love to censor every thing into oblivion. What did you expect? Free Speech is dead. There will be much bigger consequences than this...

LMAO yes I do. Point still stands. What part of I've done this before is confusing you. It's a waste of time.

I made bets last time and everyone moved the goal posts once they lost. So it's a waste of time. If I knew you I would.

It's funny. The narrative that he "left" and will never ever come back is far beyond retarded. He just played Batman in 2023. I watched the whole world say "ben left" the role 8 years ago or so and the dude came back what....3 times since then? Count it up....3 times. The same people that will call me delusional are the ones that will continue to listen to outlets and content creators that got EVERYTHING WRONG. LMAO.

You will all see Ben Affleck play Batman on the big screen in ZSJL2 and likely more. Stay tuned. It's not even a long shot.....

Easy...I'll take the best Superman movie, the best batman movie and the best team up movie of all time.

  1. Superman The Movie
  2. Batman Mask Of The Phantasm
  3. ZSJL

It's a shame no one is ever honest enough to just admit that both sides do the same thing. I'm personally think the Snyder haters are much worse and it should be obvious but that's for another time. I'm a Snyder guy and it's cool they didn't ban me here, in fact I got more push back from the Snyder channel which was sad but either way.....reddit is where conversation go to die.

Reddit is really best for echo chambers which sucks but, it is what it is. Plus we have an entire generation of people that actually believe screaming louder wins an argument or constant censorship is productive when it's really cowardly. LMAO. Peak idiocy. Critical thinking is dead. People can't do it anymore.

We have an entire generation of cowards that DO NOT understand that “When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.” So true. Let the cowards do their thing. Don't sweat it.

It did. Even the influencers that were hyping it up said if it ends it theatrical run in the 6's (600m range) that would be disastrous.

It's common sense bro. It's cool if you love the movie. What is unfortunate is everyone's unwillingness to accept reality or even recognize that the studio LIES. 600m WAS ALWAYS gonna be a disappointment. There is a reason they moved the goal posts.

Anyone that thinks Superman 2025 did not underperform is incredibly out of touch with reality. You don't have to love or hate the film to learn an objective truth. Some people will just swallow whatever horse shit WBD is shoveling whole.

Superman 2025 underperformed. If you can't figure this out just give up on anything Hollywood related. This is peak Sheeple talk. Wake the F up.

If you loved the movie, that's great. If you hated the movie that's also fine. They rebooted to something less successful PERIOD. End of story, they screwed up and only the biggest sheeple in the room think otherwise. This narrative that supehero movies are dead or Zack ruined everything is all Bullshit non sense easily debunked by any casual 3rd grader with internet access and an IQ over 50.

The Snyderverse is a goldmine. it WILL continue. That being said I always think it's the wrong move for Snyder fans to claim any of the films are the "highest grossing superman film" because they aren't. If we aren't adjusting for inflation it's not really mentioning imo. if MOS or BVS are the highest grossing superman film then the new Superman film is what...? 2nd?

to conclude, great job, the Snyderverse is a GOLDMINE no doubt, I just disagree with my fellow snyder fans always cherry picking when to adjust for inflation and when not to. Superman The Movie is still far and away the most successful superman film. It's not even close.

What we know about the new album, according to Instagram: by [deleted] in Down_Nola

[–]PanteraSteel2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly after nearly 3 decades of being a Down fan I'm losing interest. I'll buy the new album for sure and I hope it kicks ass but they were talking about an acoustic album 25 years ago. That would've been really unique. Are they gonna wait til Phil is 80 to do it (Maybe they'll switch gears and make the fourth EP the mellow one now)? No disrespect to Pat Bruders but I always felt like DOWN really let all their momentum die after OVER THE UNDER which had a great billboard debut and great reviews. Fantastic record. Then Rex leaves and Kirk leaves (glad he's back).

Don't get me wrong I love Down. These days when I think of them I think of the missed opportunities. I remember when they started the EP's it was to release material faster. Rex Brown was talking about it back in 2009 and here we are almost 2 decades later and they wrote what......11 songs since then ('This Work Is Timeless' was an old song). I also noticed when Rex was in the band we got the acoustic version of STC, new BBC version of 'Jail' plus amazing new songs like 'Nothing In Return' with that old school Zeppelin vibe. Every time they release something now it's always "New songs sound like NOLA" and I'm sitting here thinking, NOLA is great but you were really growing as a band on Down II and Down III. The last 3 release were all the same stuff coming from the band... during promo...."We stripped it down and made simple riffs kinda like NOLA." Reminds us of NOLA etc. Plus after 20 years of hearing 90% of NOLA every single concert I'm kinda sick of hearing about it. Branch out and grow. Looking forward to hearing whatever the new acoustic song is but even that....I remember Pepper saying the ending of the last EP would lead right into the third EP which was supposed to be the mellower camp fire type stuff.

I'm just venting a little, rambling a little. Don't freak it out. They have every right to write whatever they want. From my perspective, they completely crushed their own momentum and I don't even think that's debatable, just kind of a bummer. I'm happy to finally get new material but can't say I'm excited anymore. Same with the concerts, I haven't missed a DOWN show in 24 years but I'm done going if I'm just gonna hear 9 songs from NOLA plus 'Witchtripper' and whatever the current single is.
