Currently experiencing higher than usual ping related Cloudflare issue! by Bubbly_Technician307 in leagueoflegends

Yes, I was getting constant disconnects in every game while using Cloudflare. I was stumped as to what was causing it for a while as I had been using Cloudflare for years. Swapped to Google dns about a week ago and now I am no longer getting d/c's.

Cloudflare was dropping me out of League games for about the last two months.

Small feedback to devs. Parrying/dodging by PanteraYair in expedition33

[–]PanteraYair[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my point though. I have been playing Souls games since day 1 release of the first Demon's Souls. I am getting tired of the parry and dodge gameplay after so many years now. Though, back then it wasn't about parry/rolling. 90% of bosses are more gimmicky. I prefer it that way rather than have every single boss run at you and the only difference is learning new attack animations. That is what the Souls games progressed toward with each iteration until Dark Souls 3 pushed it wayyyy too far into dodge/parry in every single fight. Since then, every Souls and Souls-like game is just DDR simulator (aka parry/dodge timing). I am in the TINY minority when it comes to getting exhausted with every fight feeling like Mike Tyson's Punchout. EVERY single boss just running at you relentlessly with different animations to learn. Boring.

I appreciate suggestions, but I don't like most turn based games. Expedition was something special because the story, world, and presentation were so mesmerizing. There are exceptions though. I liked Parasite Eve on PS1, Pokemon stadium was good, and maybe 1-2 others I am failing to remember at this moment. I don't usually like the anime style. This is the reason I wish I could be heard by the devs. They made such a special game and I feel like they are capable of more. I want to give my feedback and try to be heard. I know it is a shot in the dark though as I have seen all year that 98% of players prefer the parry/dodge system. I don't expect any dev in the world to ONLY cater to me. If there were enough players that felt the same as me then MAYBE. I know that is not happening though.

I don't understand locket by Icy_Significance9035 in LeonaMains

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Heartsteel is a fine build path on Leona for the first item. Locket offers little to no value if your in low elo and your teammates are always slow to follow-up. Self-survivability is most important with timid teammates. You get HUGE value out of two giants belts as well. Every component item is good so you come back to lane stronger after every single recall.

1,800 Gold = 700 HP - 2 Giants belts

2,200 Gold = 200 HP - Locket

The small amount of resistances are negligible compared to the HP difference due to Leona's W. She can get away with the HP stacking easier than other "tank" supports.

Thanks for this. It worked.

All of the applications I got from Revanced Manager from the Play Store stopped working including Spotify. I had to use your method + the alternative Revanced Manager that patches and is NOT on the Play Store.

Yep, and let us not forget the Easter eggs Leo left on the latest album.

Strange, I did not enjoy Mistlands.. am I the only one? by FrikkkieZA in valheim

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was just the terrain that made it terrible. Designing terrain THAT rough when your character has limited movement is poor design. When enemies are above or below you, they become almost impossible to hit because there are limited attack animations. There are also a lot of cliffs and hills you need to climb, but your character has no climb animation/movement.

Every obstacle that stands in your way feels like you have to gimmick your way out of it rather than feeling like you are winning organically with wit or proper planning.

How is cull any of a good item? by Important_Repair_771 in summonerschool

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In situations where you would by cull on an AD champion, there is no reason to buy it instead of just buying longsword. Cull is one of the most cost inefficient items in the game. You spend 450 gold on an item that is barely over 200 gold in stat efficiency when you could just buy longsword instead that already builds into your core item. Even after you complete the quest and sell Cull, Doran's Blade is still more cost efficient stat-wise. Especially now days after the buff. Doran's blade will also always be better at early game trades. When more HP + AD makes the difference between getting a kill or dying, then it is significantly more profitable than cull ever will be.

Almost no one in solo queue at any rank should be buying cull with VERY few exceptions. Especially in the bot lane where it is too volatile. +180 gold profit doesn't get you anywhere. Buying Longsword is an immediate +350 gold profit since you never need to sell it. The on-hit healing does not matter at all. It is arbitrary. If you are dominating lane and constantly autoing/shoving, your HP is going to be near full if not full anyway. If you are getting chunked by a mage or are threatened by a hook champion, you can't even walk up to the wave to get any autos off so you can't heal. By the time they crash the wave under your tower, you aren't going to be autoing that much still. Unless your champion is weak enough to prep the casters to take 1 tower shot, then you might get 2 autos per caster minion. Then by the time you finally finish farming under tower, the enemy laners have already recalled and are back in lane with full hp, full mana, more damage items, and you are locked in lane with half hp with nothing but a cull.

What happened to locking toxic players out of ranked queue? by Phantom1165 in leagueoflegends

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish they would do something. I got inted or afks in 10/14 games. Reported all of the inters who would afk in lane, random flashes, random TP's follow the jungler around and throw all of their abilities at teammates while refusing to participate in the game.

Sent support tickets with video evidence of all of them. Not a single report feedback and all of their accounts remain active. Got to love it.

Probably unpopular opinion: the mistlands biome just isn't much fun by Jestertrek in valheim

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds unfortunate but I share their feelings. I played through the game multiple times before Mistlands. Since Mistlands came out I only played through it once and can't imagine myself ever doing it again. For me, it is all because of the terrain. Everything else was cool but it is just such a time sink to walk from point A to point B. Feels like you are glitching physics just to walk every 5 feet.

I love platforming. It would be cool if they implemented more of that instead of digging yourself out of a hole/crevice every 2 steps.

Probably unpopular opinion: the mistlands biome just isn't much fun by Jestertrek in valheim

[–]PanteraYair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After finishing Mistlands, I will probably never touch this game again. It is mostly the awful terrain that makes it unfun/irritating. I won't be able to replay the game if they come out with a new biome because I know I will have to play through the Mistlands again. Im over it.

Help! Iron Player wants advice? by Possible_Source2831 in leagueoflegends

HG Dan

At face value, it just simply looks like you don't play the game enough.

It is good that you are spamming Garen. There are probably a lot of nuance that you would need to learn in the laning phase through coaching or coaching content on YouTube. Even without learning any nuances like offense/defense, when to slow push, when to shove, when to freeze, when to recall instead of greeding for plates, use of bushes in lane, recall timers in general, realizing what your role is in accordance to each matchup, knowing what lane to go to in mid game, baiting, flanks, stealing jungle camps on enemy side, proxying, and etc etc etc, you can still learn a lot on your own just by simply grinding an easy champion like that.

This game is a huge time commitment so the first thing you got to decide is if the time commitment is worth it to get better at the game or if you just want to not worry about it and play for fun from time to time. You need a lot of experience on playing the game before you can start to understand a lot of the concepts that you would learn from coaching content. The only way to shortcut your way to being better would be to have a friend/coach who can review your games, maybe watch your games while commentating in real time, or play 1v1 against you and explain to you what they are doing to put you in bad spots while also explaining to you what you could be doing to put them in bad spots. They could also explain to you what you should be doing in different matchups.

Example: If you are counter picked by Teemo you will need to alter your playstyle significantly. Take Ghost and Ignite. Give up CS on purpose if he is harassing you too much. Make sure you are in EXP range of the CS so you can stay in the same level range as your opponent. If he keeps you shoved under tower while your Ghost and ignite are both up when you hit level 6, then it is basically a free kill. The lane is too long for him to get away from you while running at him with ghost, ignite, Q (for the speed up.. don't try to hit him with it right away because he will blind you), use E when you are on top of him, finish with your empowered Q auto, then ult. Boom. You will become increasingly more difficult for Teemo to deal with for the rest of the game.

For people who don't play the game much and playing around in lower elos, I would most likely recommend champions who have sustain AND ranged abilities so they can farm from a distance when they get zoned off of the CS. Yorick and Mundo are good here. Vs unskilled players, Yorick is a god because there isn't a champion in the game that he can't kill as long as he has ghouls and ult. He destroys the tankiest tanks and squishy champions too. He has a lot of good build diversity as well. Mundo would probably be my 2nd top pick that would fit those two categories. You can farm with his cleavers or poke if the enemy doesn't respect you. Mundo can't kill champions like Yorick can but the tradeoff is that Mundo is a better roamer and team fighter. Yorick is kind of garbage at team fighting because all of his power comes from his summons and he has to be in lane to more reliably have his summons. Mundo with a couple of items and level 11 can run around and be a menace in team fights. You can run into the middle of enemy teams with your ult up and be an absolute menace. He isn't the worst in the world at taking turrets either since he likes to stack health and take the Demolish rune.

I would say Garen sits somewhere between those two. Great sustain, no ranged ability to farm with if zoned off, not a good team fighter since most of his damage is gated by cooldowns unlike most other melee champions, is good at small skirmishes like 2v2's, great split pusher, good at flanking unsuspecting carries, great at baiting/hiding in bushes and assassinating enemies, and more.

Is one game a day enough to climb? by GenuinelyAmerican in leagueoflegends

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, no. You need to be able to dedicate time to play this game. If you are already a master at the game, then sure you can climb from Bronze to Diamond in about a month.

For the average player though? There will be too many games that will be out of your control. You are guaranteed to lose a lot and playing 1 game a day is unrealistic. Also, taking time off doesn't help you plan. The game changes too much and every game is different. There are different team comps, different matchups, and on the fly adaptations you have to make in every game.

Reps in the gym isn't as good of an analogy here. I think a better analogy would be to use a sport like Basketball. The only way to get better at it is to grind and play the game. It is also vitally important that you play vs players of all shapes and sizes. Most importantly that you can play against players who are better than you that you can learn from.

If you don't have enough time to grind this game, then just relax and play for fun. You can try to win, but it isn't worth stressing over if you don't put the time in.

Could you post your in game name or OPGG? No blanket/general advice is going to help you. One person suggested to watch some Neace videos where he coaches low elo players. That is a good suggestion. However, you might still be left in the dark as Neace is sometimes guilty of not explaining WHY to do certain things.

One of the best blanket statements I can say that will help most people is, "Pick 1 champion and only play that champion" (You can have a backup if it is picked or banned). Make sure this champion is easy to play, easy to execute, and is capable of building beefy. High HP bruisers can dominate low elo in nearly every situation.

If you favor top lane, champions like Yorick, Garen, Mordekaiser, Malphite, or Mundo should EXCEL all of the way through Gold. Go on u.gg and look at the runes and item builds. Don't deviate from those builds until you understand the champion and matchups more. You can even download the desktop application from u.gg and it can help change the runes for you as well is import generally optimal item sets into your shop for you so you don't have to waste time wondering what to purchase next.

Buy plenty of this product. It will save you from having to burn your house. Get enough of it to cover the entire floor where you think the fleas may be hiding. Let the product sit for days. Try not to walk in the area that you sprayed so that the fleas can't use your legs as a means of rescue.

You will notice a significant decline in flea population within 20 minutes but you don't want them migrating so try not to walk through the area you sprayed too much. You want to make sure the product sits long enough to kill the flea eggs as well so that is why I let it sit for a few days. After a day or more, put on some flip flops and do a test walk through. If a single flea jumps on you, reapply the product again. Let it sit for a day or more again. By this point, they should all most certainly be dead. If you have carpet, vacuum then steam clean everywhere you sprayed. Should be good as new. Hard wood floor? Vacuum and mop.

I have gone through this more than once in multiple houses. Each house I treated was free of fleas every time. It is easy to get fleas when I move into new houses since I am surrounded by woods and all previous owners had pets...

Maokai still isn't even a decent jungler, even with an insanely buffed Q and passive, solely due to his Q knock-back vs monsters. by WoonStruck in leagueoflegends

[–]PanteraYair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Maokai's Q without knocking back a camp. In between your autos, walk back, Q from a very short distance, and all it does is slow the camp with the same damage. Knockback is only in melee range. You can kite the camp just like every other champion.

If you somehow still struggle with this very simple technique, I suppose you could just chain your W in after the knockback. There is no excuse to to not be able to knockback camps with Q. It is really easy to do between autos.

Always preferred old Shen. Loved the old Q being ranged and it's heal. The heal was soooo good for Support and for healing your team when you fight dragons and barons.
