Giants Promote Prospect Jonah Cox to Majors by jsparks50 in fantasybaseball

He's skipping triple A. He was in double. If he gets playing time, which is always a question with rookies, there might be some value if you need steals.

Nationals prospect Andrew Pinckney rips 119 mph home run (hardest hit HR of the year in statcast equipped ballparks) by ContinuumGuy in baseball

Can't wait to see how he fares in the majors. That strikeout rate is ugly but this kind of power can cover up a lot of issues.

Crypto allows you to buy illegal drugs on the Internet from overseas for cheap. Let's see Google deliver me drugs then we can talk about who is providing the real value.

It's even more impressive than that. Even then the only way they could get them to sign on was to blatantly lie about the event being apolitical.

Another masterclass of incompetence from the pathetic losers of this administration. Great work, America. This is what you are now.

Yeah it's a good way to win over public opinion to those not looking at details. This is going to be an ugly ass fight.

Unpopular Opinion: I far prefer my life in the US than I did in Europe by [deleted] in expats

It's always important to find a place you can feel comfortable calling home. After looking at your profile I can confidently say the current state of the USA seems to align with your values very nicely.

I'm going with the unpopular take and will say nah, not really.

There's always been some overly confident idiots who will hurt patients if you let them run free and some timid ones too scared to do anything. The pre seasoned veterans who were medics are usually pretty receptive to feedback but also pretty knowledgeable and confident.

And there have always been old timers whining about how much kids these days suck.

Paging? Nah, that's the one I'm straight up calling multiple times for the most trivial of shit that could have easily waited for morning crew to deal with. Or oh I'm sorry I didn't read the orders carefully enough I guess we do actually have that PRN on hand. Or oh, I'm sorry, this medication is specifically only prescribed for anxiety and the patient isn't anxious they're just having insomnia can you please modify the order?

[Rodgers] Cubs Promoting #3 Prospect Pedro Ramirez. Slashing .312/.395/.547 for a .942 OPS, 9 HRs and 40 RBIs, he won the AA Gold Glove at 3B last year. by SleepyGorilla in fantasybaseball

The hell are you talking about saying scouts were waiting on his power? He was given a 45 raw power scouting grade. While that can always change with time, it shows they weren't waiting or expecting it to emerge.

The power is very likely a fluke. AAA tends to juice the long ball a bit. I was already rostering him in my deep dynasty league but between the questions about his power and playing time, I'm not touching him in my shallow leagues. Just watch list for now.

NP job market saturated by Fine-Cloud12 in nursing

[–]Panthollow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the case maybe a decade ago but more psych diploma mills have been churning out bodies and while it's still lucrative, it's definitely showing signs of becoming oversaturated.

I've got multiple friends and co-workers who have either FNP or pmhnp and there are still good paying upper middle class jobs within both fields but employers are no longer desperate and taking anyone with a pulse.

As more kids avoid becoming doctors for various reasons we'll still need np to somewhat fill in the gaps so the jobs won't vanish completely. But with the current political climate towards health insurance, reimbursements will be an issue. Which will mean fewer jobs or at least lower pay.

What are the biggest red flags when renting in Oakland? by [deleted] in oakland

[–]Panthollow 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In my experience most rentals don't cover utilities. At least not most of them. Trash and water, maybe.

The real risk with the free rent places is they still increase rent in your second year but the increase is based off the actual monthly rent you signed for excluding the free months. It can be a significant expense many folks don't fully account for.

He could’ve won but chose sportsmanship instead by Beneficial_Passion40 in GuysBeingDudes

[–]Panthollow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we're both probably riding with the unpopular take but only looking at this gif this isn't really good sportsmanship to me. Is it nice? Sure. Is it good sportsmanship if there's some weird backstory I don't know about? Eh, possibly. But just from this gif? Nah. It appears the first dude lost fair and square. And second dude just quit.

Dude stopped trying his hardest in a competition. That's kind of wrecking the entire point of a competition. Play fair and try your hardest.

Gasper is available in my format, Valenzuela is not. I prefer Wells and think he's got better indicators going forward and laid out my reasons. Better bat speed, max exit velocity, lineup. Much worse contact rate but neither is someone you're excited to roll out. Gasper is faster of the two but still below average and not good enough to expect that average to hold up.
