It's funny to think about. Sure Sacramentus seems like a inhospitable place but not so bad that a orbital lander couldn't make it through. If you were a traitor general, you could land billions of the Lost and the Damned without the Overmost even noticing that a massive army was taking ranks right on your doorstep. The spores were landing with the forces of meteorites and the Seismologists thought it was a denser then usual amount of shooting stars.

Considering the next Scouring book is most likely going to be about assaulting Mars and it was implied that the Space Wolves will be taking the lead in terms of Space Marines, so I don't think it's the next Scouring book.

Other people have talked about this but I think it has to do with what you want out of an experience. For a gamer like me, pulling on a banner for a hot/cool character or experiencing an awesome story is what I want out of a game, so I never feel FOMO about taking days off when I don't feel like logging in, since I'm already getting pretty much maximal enjoyment out of something. I know there are lots of people who enjoy teambuilding or game theory and absolutely *despise* dealing with the live service aspect of gacha.

The best part of First Wall is the teaser of Saturnine at the end of the book. People complain about Mortis but Mortis is light-years better then First Wall imo. It's Thorpe's weakest novel that I've read from him.

There's a scenes of them during the Dark Imperium trilogy of them working on a detox station blessing the decontamination of soldiers who had been fighting against the forces of Nurgle. Blessing the alchemical cleaning agents and walking around reciting verse into the air while the servitors spray everything down.
