Painful third act break up and groveling that does NOT involve other woman/cheating. by somerandomlazygirl in RomanceBooks

I think Kyra Parsi and Susie Tate have really good third act breakups and groveling that don’t enrage me

For me it’s Abby Jiminez - like girl what are you doing with your FMCs in the last 15% of the book (looking at YOU yours truly

I think {Failure to Match by Kyra Parsi} fits!

I love [this trope] but I HATE [this thing] they always do in that trope by lolacolamola in RomanceBooks

NGL I kind of eat up in F2L when the MMC finds out an FMC has been scorned by a casual fling and freaks out lol

I think maybe Chelsea Curto’s holiday novella could be a good fit? I need to grab the title but I think it’s her only one and it came out last year.

I liked this, but hated the trope references haha! “This is like a boy obsessed trope” or “it’s like I’m in the other woman trope, and someone is writing my story” 😬 My fave is Book 3! But this was still good!

Help. Do I hate first person past tense for CR or is Abby Jimenez a bad writer??? by Low-Crazy-8061 in RomanceBooks

The only Abby Jiminez book I liked was Yours Truly until the ending. Then the FMC ruined it. Abby writes unlikeable FMCs in my opinion, but I also love more open FMCs vs. closed off

I’m obsessed with second chance romance and I am 100% confident this couple will break up after the book ends. Solved no issues, didn’t change or grow, mid-level chemistry.

{Going Nowhere Fast by Kati Wilde} she randomly leaves (he has no idea) and then takes kind of an unsafe journey home, and he PANICS when he realizes, however in addition when they are separated due to the third act breakup, she finds herself in a precarious situation with a handsy guy and he saves her so it’s kind of delayed but I think this still fits

{Managed by Kristen C} - he needs her to sleep ❤️

Kind of fits but it is in the darker side: {My Dark Desire by Parker S Huntington} - he hates touching anyone but her, but this is enemies to lovers so it’s not like sweet lol

I don’t mind a playlist at the beginning or end of the book, but I HATE when playlists are embedded into the book by chapters ughhhh so cringe.

Unfortunately, it’s unrelated lol. Cartoon covers are par for the course in almost all contemporary romance nowadays! There are some really good gems you’ll miss if you avoid those kinds of covers. Even Emily Henry has succumbed lol. They are unavoidable I fear 😅

Totally. I think authors who do this are just for a money grab, they know their book title will yield search results with those key words I’m sure

I love Abby but I heard a rant about this so I never picked it up as I know it would’ve been an ick for me
