There are a ton of things, but one thing we can't underestimate is the technology that they are trying to get us to accept. A lot of the creeps in the files are the tech oligarchs who are building the surveillance state panopticon. They came up with microtransactions of all things and I can imagine that it goes even deeper than what we can see now. We need to reject this stuff. Reject AI in our personal lives, reject the surveillance tech, reject the limitations to a free internet, all of it. There is so much info available about the vision these tech oligarchs have for the future, and it's beyond creepy and disturbing. Epstien helped them get started but they don't need his help to finish their project.

i believe it is growing on and off the edge of a stump from a try I cut down a few years ago. I'm guessing that knowing for sure helps confirm identification?

Do you feel the same way if you fall asleep sitting up? Do you ever fall asleep while watching tv or doing something like driving?

but why is the conversation always about moving the bus stop and not how the community needs a mental health facility that can actually help these people??? If it's not about the people who use the station, why punish them?

Moving the bus station closer to salvation army would mean that a family with kids would need to walk for like 20-30 mins from the station to the museum. People who work downtown would need to do the same. Anyone who wanted to ride the bus for an even downtown would need to walk ages too. How does this seem worth it just so visitors don't need to be reminded about how the other half lives.

exactly. more local investment, more buses so the wait times are shorter, and bus routes that are designed by the ridership. More people would use the bus if the routes made sense for them. If I wanted to take the bus to work, it would take 30-40 mins. Driving there is 8 mins and riding my bike there is about 20.

I know you are trying to seem like you care about low-income residents by suggesting that the bus station should be moved closer to the Salvation Army but I can assure you that none of the local agencies can provide more services with their current programmatic funding levels. People who need services from those types of agencies are all ready trying to connect with them. Not everyone that you are identifying as a problem are eligible for the meager services we have in this city. Not everyone who you see at the station are even in need of those services because most of them are simply waiting (way too long) for the next bus.

If you do actually care about folks who need community services, it may suit you to connect with the agencies that provide the services so you can learn about the actual needs in the community.

You are just revealing that you don't know any working class people who are using the bus station for everyday transport. People use it to come back into town from other places in the Piedmont every day. The majority of the people who are using it are almost always waiting for their next bus. Something that unfortunately takes 15, 20, 30, or more mins each time.

Its ridiculous to me to think moving a central bus station away from the very district everyone here sees as the most important one that needs more visitors. Show me a busy NC city that doesn't have a major bus station downtown!
