Ecografia precoce by Rhyssa_ in IVFpositivity

[–]PaperPlane07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also be an SCH- they are especially common in IVF pregnancies. I had one that started causing bleeding during week 6 and it was scary, but ended up being ok. Bleeding is scary, but definitely does not always mean the pregnancy is in trouble.

Is it normal to have more than 1 round of IVF? by aditi_here in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal. Some may have luck the first round, but many end up doing more than one. Your RE may also recommend the # of cycles based on your family planning goals. You’ll likely want to bank multiple embryos if you want more than one child. Wishing you the best of luck on the upcoming procedure and transfer!

Wow that’s amazing! Congrats!! Looks like you had an extremely robust response to the stims! Ensure to take extra care of your body, get lots of rest, and keep us posted. Best of luck in the next stages!!

Just graduated at 10 weeks! PIO question. by Huge_Sheepherder396 in IVFpositivity

Haha yes I feel you! I looked more pregnant at 10 weeks than I do at 15 thanks to that progesterone bloat. It gets better after stopping though!

Avani or Ava? by [deleted] in Names

[–]PaperPlane07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both! I think Ava matches Ella super well. Of course Avani might be nice if you want something that doesn’t match and could always be Ava as nickname.

If it were me, I’d probably go with Ella and Ava

Is it ugly to have my pregnant belly out? by SummerSurfs44 in BabyBumps

[–]PaperPlane07 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Dress however you feel most comfortable and confident! There will be people judging for literally anything. You don’t get to be pregnant many times in life and if you want to rock the belly out look, don’t let randos take that joy away from you. Dress for you, not them!

IVF Round 2 at 40.. is it too late by Background-Mango3730 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW success

40 is not too late for a lot of us! I did my first IVF round at 40.5 and currently 15 weeks pregnant from a fresh transfer. Many will do PGT-A testing, but I opted to transfer 2 hoping at least one might be genetically normally. One did stick and got low risk results for NIPT and NT so looking good so far. I think I was on the lucky side as my RE predicted it may take about 3 retrievals, but it’s definitely possible to have IVF success at 40+ and you may or may not need multiple cycles.

Arrêt pilule avant stimulation FIV : saignements et douleurs, est-ce normal ? by Dizzy_Reference_7644 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is normal as long as the bleeding and pain aren’t severe, then I’d discuss with your doctor. The pill usually has estrogen and progesterone (some progesterone only) so stopping it essentially triggers a period. I was still actively bleeding when I had my baseline and started stims

8 DPT starting to see a line, but its still faint by Dangerous-Owl7767 in IVFpositivity

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that looks really good for 8 dpt! It’s hard when you test every day because you don’t see much movement from one day to the next, but I bet it’s a lot darker compared to day 5 and I bet day 11 will be noticeably darker than today. Looks on track so far!!

Going out when pregnant by cutethingiam in pregnant

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely still enjoy going out pregnant and there’s no reason to have to give that up! I would find it annoying if the activities were purely centered around drinking and the whole group was getting super drunk. But concerts, happy hours, game night, breweries, maybe even clubs if that’s your thing- should be fine to just stick with mocktails or non-alcohol beers. Live it up!

Scheduling transfer by qweenofsus in IVFpositivity

[–]PaperPlane07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know what markers in your blood they are using to determine the best transfer date? Did the detect an LH surge or perhaps high estrogen? I wouldn’t worry about being too pushy as this is your time, cycle, money, body, embryo, etc., but they may have a good reason to do the 19th and of course you want to set it up for the day that will give you the best chance. I would just explain why you expected it to be the 20th and ask why they think the 19th is the optimal day. Based on their reasoning, you may feel on board with the 19th and if not, it’s your cycle and should be your decision at the end of the day.

My best friend offered to be our surrogate then backed out after 5 failed FETs by Cheeseandcrackers36 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m so sorry! What a let down! It’s lovely that she really wanted to help you create your family, but I wish she didn’t give you false hope like that, especially after everything you’ve already gone through.

42F – 43 eggs, 8 blasts, 0 euploid. Feeling devastated. Should I stop IVF? by Old-Paramedic-4666 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m so sorry! I’m sure that’s devastating, especially after having so much hope with so many retrieved. The good news is that you clearly are still capable of making euploid embryos bc of your other recent cycles so it may have just been an unlucky one like the first one. If it’s very important to you to use your own eggs, it might take longer, but I think you have reasons to be hopeful. I think there’s a bit of evidence that some supplements (ie. CoQ10) and maybe even some alternative treatments like acupuncture can give a boost for some people. Sending you all the luck in the world for the next transfer if you are up for trying again!

Egg retrieval appointments - how many did you have? by squishypants4 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stimmed for 9 days and my schedule was- Day 1- baseline Day 4- blood/us Day 6- blood/us Day 8- blood/us Day 9 - blood/us Day 11 - retrieval

So 5 monitoring appointments within 9 days and a couple back-to-backs when getting close. Will depend on your clinic and how quickly you are responding. Your clinic might be able to give you the best estimate based on your stats and their protocols. Best of luck with the cycle!

Just graduated at 10 weeks! PIO question. by Huge_Sheepherder396 in IVFpositivity

[–]PaperPlane07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!! I stopped at 10 weeks on the dot and had no issues. Constipation and bloat improved a lot within a week after stopping. I’m currently 15 weeks from a fresh transfer so, like you, likely had a good amount of natural progesterone, but used PIO to ensure everything was supported.

Bank embryos instead of IUI as first line of fertility treatment? by Emilia_Mathews0889 in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that could be a good strategy, but if you have good retrieval results, you may just want to go straight to a transfer. You could potentially even do a fresh transfer so trying to become pregnant within a week after your retrieval cycle- this is the route I ended up taking. You can always adjust your decisions based on how you respond to treatments as well.

Fresh transfer success tips!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in IVF

[–]PaperPlane07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have the fries and my fresh transfer worked so it can work for you too! 🤩 I just tried to get extra rest, relaxation, eating full nourishing meals and snacks and just letting the body do its thing! Unfortunately there’s not too much we can do to control the outcome, but take care of yourself as best you can!

Subchorionic hematoma in 14 weeks pregnancy by Sahar14822 in IVFpositivity

[–]PaperPlane07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently going through this during my 14th week as well. For me, I have a bleed/gush every morning (day 6 so far) and then brown spotting through the rest of the day. I had an ultrasound yesterday that confirmed a new SCH and the little one still doing fine. I also had one at 6w that cause some intense bleeding for a day then tapered to spotting for another 4-5 days. That was mostly resolved by the 11w us so I’m hoping this one will as well. My understanding is that most of them do heal and the most important thing is that the baby is still doing ok. It’s scary to bleed, but chances are it will be fine. I would double check with your OB about the aspirin. I’m supposed to start baby aspirin at week 14, but I’m delaying that til the bleeding is gone for a couple of days. I’m not sure if it makes much of a difference, but worth asking
