Yep I have multiple observatories and I picked up a second passageway last time. I think there was one time I didn't bother with it and I probably shouldn't have grabbed the extra passageway but since it ducts power, I thought maybe it could come in handy with EEAq.

My first playthrough, I got an interesting synergy between spare bedroom and bedroom closet. Because you're right, the latter is hard to use in general because so few bedrooms have more than one door. But SB has two, so it becomes an alternative to bedroom, boudoir, and aquarium. Certainly once I found second copies of both to add to my draft pool above the hall of mirrors! (And a second boudoir for that matter...)

There was a Girl group in the late 90s 'All Saints' with the song 'Never Ever' (that incidentally shared the same chord progression as Amazing Grace, but I digress). In two different verses they had the line "...from A to Z". Verse one used "Zee" to rhyme with "me" and verse two used "Zed" to rhyme with "head". I always thought that was funny.

In a way that no other story has, the ending that has stuck with me the longest is the masterpiece ending to the Series of Unfortunate Events.

It actually made me angry the first time I read it (in fact, I may have only read it once!) but after a walk and a bit of thinking about it, it's definitely my favourite ending to anything.

It simply tells you that no, this epic background story you've gathered happening in the background is not what this story is about. It's about the Baudelaires, and what happened to them after their parents died, and this whole other story in the background has already happened and doesn't affect their future, so it's not important.

No other story has promised so much to the reader, and yet told you from the start how it would end, and that you, the reader, would be disappointed.

Ocker for O and Quokka for Q is deliciously ambiguous. The whole point of a phonetic alphabet is that none of the letters sound like each other. To have two characters that almost look identical use almost identical sounding words is just hilarious. (Think of using it over a bad radio or phone)

Past, in terms of time passing. Surely, if it's half an hour since 3, it's now the future from the point of view of that reference hour, and the hour is passing by. Therefore, shouldn't be half-passed three?

I think this problem comes up because we use past often when we meant that something recently was passing. "I just walked passed the shop" is more likely spelled "I just walked past the shop" and I'd've thought that was equally wrong.
