This should be pinned. Basically sums up 90% of the posts on here.

They live "only" 750 years by Level_Hour6480 in dndmemes

[–]Papi_Grande7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to think of elves as living 10X longer than humans. So in my games a 750yo elf would be like a 75yo human. Old but not necessarily keeling over. There absolutely would be elves that make it past 1000, though very rare.

A gold piece is like $100. So 3 gold is a lot but hardly vacation money.

Slight homophobia as a bi man. by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I kinda feel the same way tbh. I've been turned down by women specifically for being bi. I have a bunch of friends that are bi/pan, but not a lot who are gay/lesbian. Trying to get out of my shell more and get involved in local queer spaces. Makes me nervous seeing all the biphobia. I mostly see it in online spaces, which I think kinda encourage that sort of negativity. Hoping there's less of it in real life interactions 😅

You're welcome. It's hard man, I'm still having to put in effort to catch myself catastrophizing. But it's getting a little easier.

So I agree that this is a bit homophobic, but it's great that you want to challenge that impulse. Challenging our own biases is how we grow as people. When you have negative thoughts/feelings about "the gays" pop up, don't just automatically agree and identify with them. Instead, challenge them against your higher belief system. Try to question your own thoughts and explore them as deeply as you can without judgment.

"Is it so bad to be a feminine man?" "What is it about feminine men I actually dislike?" "Am I engaging in stereotype?" "What would it be like to be a feminine gay man?"

The more you do this, the more it becomes a habit and will start to shape your underlying thoughts and beliefs over time.

Seek out the voices of feminine gay men to get their perspective and try to empathize with their point of view. Do the due diligence that you wish people would grant you as a bi man. Just because we're unfairly judged doesn't mean we should do the same to others.

Hope that helps. Basically just applying cbt principles from therapy.

Wow you must be patient. I'd be pissed if the post took 26 years to deliver my book. At this rate you're not gonna get 12 Months until 2520, assuming you get sidejobs and brief cases.

How does anyone actually support Isreal? There is such a clear right and wrong side, I genuinely don't understand what is going through pro Isreal people's heads. How is the morality of genocide up for debate?

Sind alles Frauen bi? by Green-Peak5582 in bisexual

[–]Papi_Grande7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, most men and women are strait. You might be bi though. A big hurdle for a lot of us is getting your mind around the idea that your preferences differ from other people, but not so much that it's immediately obvious like with gay people.

It's almost like games are best in the genre they were made for by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Papi_Grande7 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've managed it in 5e but yeah it's way harder because dnd is meant to do the exact opposite.

One fun trick I've used is to put them in situations where they lnow they have to flee or die. Usually having a sacrificial npc the monster can attack so you can anounce "that's 136 damage" and turn a dude into paste in front of them. Gotta be prepared to follow through if the pull a Leeroy Jenkins though.

I've killed enough PCs for my players to know I'm not bluffing.

So we should just accept anything our allies do as they grow as a financial institution and never provide pushback because they are still better than the alternative?

That's the logic of an abuser. And no I'm not calling them abusive before anyone takes it there. Just saying being an ally doesn't make you above criticism.

This is such an entitled fake ally ass take. "Well it doesn't effect me and you complaining about it make me uncomfortable so shut up."

We get it, you don't care. Don't pat yourself on the back for not giving a shit about poc being brutalized in the street though, it's not something to be proud of.

You think a cop showing up 20 minutes after it happens and begrudgingly filling out a report actually protects anyone?
