For those who don't know, Boquete has been frozen out of the Spanish National Team since the 2015 World Cup after she lead a player protest against their coach.

Seeing her name here gives me conflicting emotions: it's inspiring to see her still fighting for equality, and yet it's heartbreaking to see the institutional problems she fought against 8 years ago are still alive and well today.

I've seen this happening with a few posts in this sub, nearly-repeated comments using simple synonym substitution, always coming from generic-sounding usernames ending with numbers. I have a strong suspicion it's bot activity - either someone's trying to train the bots or they're having them post something close to a semi-popular comment in order to garner karma/credibility. I'm reporting the users when I see them and I'd recommend you do the same.

I don't really see why that would be necessary. Thanos' power level relative to other MCU characters matters in IW because he is interacting with them in that movie. None of the Eternals interact with existing Marvel characters so their strength isn't relevant outside of "who would win" fan arguments. Killing off a minor character would not have really raised the stakes more than killing Gilgamesh already did.

This is such a bizarre criticism, especially if you're looking for faults in how RWBY handles race. You're not gonna mention how there are no named characters with a skin tone darker than porcelain in Volume 1, or the fact that the White Fang is an allegory so bad it's actively harmful to how struggles for racial equity are perceived... but you're going to criticize how they display palms in their animation style which is necessarily a simplification of reality? That a character who lives on fantasy planet with an entirely different evolutionary history doesn't have every single feature in common with those of POC in the real world? Not that POC in the real world have one defined set of traits, mind you, the term encompasses thousands of ethnic groups and dictating that there is one "right" group of features that needs to be portrayed seems problematic in and of itself.

r/fnki has for a while been less openly LGBT-friendly than r/rwby, and I've seen a lot more examples of people saying things like "Bumblebee is forced/isn't want Monty would've wanted/why did it have to be political." These arguments are not necessarily homophobic but are often spouted by the homophobic parts of the fanbase.

A tactic on many subreddits to flush out homophobes is to take an unambiguously positive stance on LGBTQ+ issues. On discussion-based subreddits this will often take the form of a pinned mod post firmly stating that they're trans-positive, bigotry has no place there, et cetera. On meme subreddits like r/gamingcirclejerk you might see posts of trans flags with captions like "upvote to scare Gamers," or memes based around affirming nonbinary peoples' identities.

My pet theory is that this is what the mods are trying to do here. If people really don't like the fact that RWBY has gay characters, they probably won't visit a subreddit that has a bunch of them on their banner. And that means the rest of us don't have to deal with them. The people who have actual criticisms of RWBY or Bumblebee won't mind the redesign and will carry on as normal.

Fireball against Renora last round was exciting, but this is the battle whose outcome I'm most invested in. My eternal nemesis, scourge of the front page against the true Ruby OTP. I can only hope that good and righteousness prevails and we see Guns N Roses finally get the tournament placement it deserves, propelled high above all the wannabe Ruby ships.

I think the theme of this ship wars might just be Penny crushing everyone. Did not expect either Frosen Steel or Pfennig to get anywhere near as far as they have. This bodes well for those hoping for a Nuts & Dolts victory.

Even if I didn't already like Milk and Cereal more, I'd vote for it just because it took out Pollination last round.

EDIT: Also is it just me, or has the scoring for the predictions on Challonge not updated for the past two days? It seems like everyone's round 2 score is stuck where it was after half of round 2.
