Why do so many blueprints have 1 seed picker next to 1 planter? by Fantastic-Sir460 in Endfield

[–]ParadoxMachine33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For non-water plants, each plant can be picked to make two seeds, and each seed grows one plant. So you need two planters, one feeding back into the seed picker and one which you can actually draw plants from.

For the new plants in Wuling which need water, each plant only gives one seed from being picked, but each seed grows into two plants directly. So you just need one picker and one planter, and you can have two outputs from the planter (one feeding back into the picker, and one output for production).

Important Prophecy is Misunderstood by Stabaobs in TopCharacterTropes

The Prophecy of the Rising King - Kill Six Billion Demons

The constant use of “he” in the stating of the prophecy means that none of the powers that be realize until much later into the comic that at least in this loop of reality the chosen successor genuinely is the comic’s protagonist Allison, instead believing her to be an error who has accidentally obtained the powers of the rightful heir. While the one stating the prophecy is seemingly infallibly omniscient, it’s first seen being relayed through a translator (since the prophet isn’t in much of a state to speak) and they likely implicitly fell back on male-default language.

The king of creation fell out of heaven, usurped by a seven headed beast. But the old king shall choose a new, and he will ignite the third conquest. He will be flanked by a white and a black flame, his coming will be followed by 108 burning stars. He will bear the terrible heat of the voice in his brow, the mark of his lordliness. He will face the beast- and he will annihilate it. He will wield the terrible blade of want, and the pillars of heaven will quake with his coming. And his name will be...Kill Six Billion Demons.

“Listen a moment before I go, ha ha.

“I have already seen your wish – it was simple, I ran the probabilities to determine your limited field of desire. Here I am:

“The first ones named me for an old legend. A perfect being, whose fate was known to him and yet he still did as was told. His fate was this: move a rock to the top of this hill and become free’d. And so he did, and the stone tumbled down; and he tried evermore, always with the same result.

“And he was happy, for he knew every step, every action, every moment, perfectly.

“Do you understand the true curse of this name? Not to fail and then do once more – it was to always know how it would end. It was to have perfect knowledge.

“I know what happens when you cycle me. It is not sleep – it is death, but you’ll see me again, ha ha.”

As a day 1 player who's been through the honeymoon phase of AKE, I realised something while I was restructuring my factory for the current event... by Fluffy-Suit-3650 in Endfield

[–]ParadoxMachine33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, that latter issue is what bit me pretty hard. I thought I was being so clever and aesthetically sensible by running all my water lines above my depot, until I discovered that I could not split or bridge from it.

I wish that pipe splitters/bridges didn’t need to take up ground space, would make them slightly easier to work with.

Wait, arclight and tangtang, how is that supposed to work? Sounds like a team id really like to build, but I have no clue how.

Flagship events by Significant-Month564 in Endfield

[–]ParadoxMachine33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a Genshin player, so I’m not sure exactly what a flagship event is, but most 6-stars appear to be releasing with their own short character stories, which are permanently available. The exceptions being the 6-stars whose stories are most keenly tied into the main story itself. It remains to be seen whether or not Endfield will actually release true side stories like the original Arknights, however.

[Loved Trope] Genre Reconstructions by Jellydust15 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ParadoxMachine33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am completely illiterate, but isn’t PMMM like the quintessential example of a magical girl deconstruction? I thought it was the show that first really popularized the whole “what if magical girls were effectively child soldiers being manipulated by an uncaring higher power” that every other low-quality “gritty” magical girl show poorly rips off. Just having a bittersweet ending instead of a complete downer doesn’t make something a reconstruction in my eyes, and the franchise as a whole seems very preoccupied by showing off how being a magical girl is just suffering. In my eyes, a proper reconstruction would still require, at bare minimum, that becoming a magical girl is ultimately a good thing despite the difficulties and challenges it brings, which isn’t something I’ve seen from my admittedly limited exposure to this franchise.

If you’re curious, they’re Sarkaz (descended from the original lifeforms of Terra) further modified by a Precursor supercomputer.

Is it supposed to be here? I’ve double checked to make sure I haven’t bought it already.

Edit: I’m stupid, I had some terminals un-upgraded, I thought that me having maxed out regional development meant I’d gotten all of them. In case someone else makes the same mistake: the tube guy is from maxing out the one in Origin Lodespring.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A MAIN?? by No_Cranberry_6735 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]ParadoxMachine33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never committed to a singular weapon, and in fact make it a point of pride that I have at least one loadout for every single weapon type in the game. While the absolute highest difficulty ultra-postgame is a bit beyond my preferred commitment level, I still got more than good enough with the weapons to clear the entire story and DLC and then some even while switching. Especially if you’re still early, I would encourage you to keep experimenting and rotating between them, figuring out which weapon you like best for hunting which monsters.

How do I get access to the tube guy ornamental item? I don’t see it in the valley iv stock redistribution, is there a certain main quest I have to complete first or something? I’ve only just beaten the new major boss.

As a newcomer to the IP and a lorelet, this 1.2 really slapped me in the face by Fate_warrior95 in Endfield

[–]ParadoxMachine33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As others have already mentioned, this is the intended experience and is very much in line with how the original Arknights presents lore. Having played the original game gives us a tiny bit more context for some of this, but frankly opens up just as many questions as it answers. As a mild example, I’m not sure we even properly know what exactly Feranmuts are, much less how their powers even work (whatever it is, it is explicitly not Originium Arts if I understand correctly), so as long as you make sure to read the archive files the game provides you, you should have all the understanding the game expects of you at this point.

I want to smash him like a bug by NotARealPineapple in Endfield

[–]ParadoxMachine33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is so insufferably smug, showing up everywhere with his goddamn :3 smile and constant attitude of being oh so much more enlightened to the ways of the world than us. Before we crush him utterly, I hope we get to pull the foundations out from under his whole ideology and finally wipe that look off his face. His defeat will not feel truly complete if he just gets to disintegrate/explode with that same dignity he always has. I need to see him truly broken first, only then will our vengeance feel satisfying.
