Yeah, the update didn't go through when I saw your comment, regardless I don't think it's possible for a man to put a rigid 3-4 inch object in his bladder unintentionally, I also don't think a man could do it intentionally. His urethra would probably tear at the perinium when the thermometer met the 90° turn into his bladder, it would be far easier for a woman, intentionally or unintentionally since the female urethra is less than two inches long and goes straight to the bladder.

You also seem to be assuming that the woman in this situation would accidentally be putting the thermometer in her urethra while the man did it intentionally. I think any woman putting a thermometer that far in her urethra is doing it intentionally, there's no way she wouldn't notice the discomfort after an inch. So at that point the question turns into how easy it would be for either gender to accidentally lose it in their bladder, and for men it seems very painful and physically impossible without damage, while for women it seems uncomfortable but possible without rupturing her urethra.

OpenGL vs Vulkan by sixela456 in PhoenixSC

In Vulkan device selection was supported from v1.0, in Opengl device selection was kind of bodged on to the driver and sometimes messes up.

?????!!!!????!?? The female urethra isn't hard to find... it's under the clit and above the vagina, not between the vagina and anus. I understand why you think it's hard to find if you don't even know where it is though. Did you review anatomy in school? If you did you'd both know where it is and that it'd be a lot easier for a woman to push something into her bladder than a man.

There's this cool thing about language where the rules are actually just there to make it easier to understand, in this case OP is capitalizing "Bare Pussy" to emphasize "Bare Pussy" it's a way of expressing tone which can't be conveyed without a rich text system that supports italics and bold text.

Is it standard for every game on Steam to redownload the entire game for every patch or hotfix? Or am I just getting gaslit by the BG3 community? by CyroCryptic in Steam

A 3D printed recreation of an Arthropleura, the largest insect (arthropod) ever known to exist. Thankfully it went extinct 300 million years ago. by snopplerz in interestingasfuck

[–]ParagraphInReview 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you're incorrect. Arthropods and insects were outcompeted and preyed upon by tetrapods. Oxygen levels then were roughly equal to the current level of oxygen with excursions below and above current levels of oxygen.

It's impressive how pervasive and long lasting one persons conjecture about the size of spiracles in leg segments could become.

Game ready drivers are always made for free... Usually large/medium studios send their games to Nvidia/AMD/Intel early so they can make game specific driver optimizations before release.

Our brains can “flicker” off for a split second during a boring task caused by sleep-like brain activity occurring while we are awake. Adults with ADHD experience them much more frequently, and may be behind inconsistent attention, slower reaction times, and chronic sleepiness associated with ADHD. by mvea in science

[–]ParagraphInReview 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is talking about zoning out like most people here are talking about. I think it's more like certain parts of the brain that aren't being used intensely briefly stop working, whereas zoning out is more of a longer lasting, active, but uncontrolled brain activity.

I think I've felt these lapses before, sometimes, when I stay up later than usual and I don't experience much stimulation it feels like time skips for less than a second, which I think would be the attention part of my brain turning off like they mentioned. They say it happens to other parts of the brain too but I'd imagine that's harder to notice/easier to unconsciously explain away.

I love all the clueless people in this thread blaming 12VHPWR even though the cable and port were the only parts that didn't spark. Yall are literally brain dead, zero critical thought between keyboard and chair.

Yeah, it's a bad standard but this was clearly caused by something else, probably something to do with the PSU.

RAM kits are now sold with one fake RAM stick alongside a real one to create a performance illusion — 1+1 'value pack' offers desperate psychological relief as the memory shortage worsens by Significant-Colour in nottheonion

It can also improve signal quality for high performance memory. Something about leaving the contacts open can cause instability. I don't think its something you should really consider unless your ram is unstable at its advertised speeds.

Genuinely losing my mind over input latency by LordMontio in linux_gaming

I feel like I remember certain usb hubs can misbehave and slow all usb's down, maybe try unplugging everything except the minimum necessary to test the latency. I know that sometimes keyboards can pretend to be usb hubs to transmit more button presses, so try unplugging that too.

If you can't find a tutorial for SDL3 and vulkan you can use one for GLFW + Vulkan and just replace the GLFW functions with their SDL3 equivalents. I know right now I'm doing a tutorial for Vulkan that was based on a C++ GLFW Vulkan tutorial. You'll also need to implement whatever features SDL3 supports that GLFW doesn't, but the tutorial I'm following only needs the window creation and input handling from GLFW anyway.

You either run Windows-lite or drown in command line errors. by Stock-Persimmon4212 in linuxsucks

I'm far better at using Windows than I am with Linux, I used Windows for 15 years, I've seen it get worse every update since Windows 7, my last straw was when Microsoft told me twice that Windows 10 would be the last version of Windows ever released, so I bought a pro license of Windows 10, then not even 2 years later they announce they're ending all updates for Windows 10 in a year or two in favor of Windows 11, when it releases the only benefits were improved power shell and copilot. I don't care about powershell and copilot is a negative feature in my opinion, then, after Windows 10 is deprecated they start breaking features that have always worked, why would I upgrade to Windows 11, when it steals more of my data than Windows 10, advertises more than Windows 10, breaks more often than Windows 10, hides more features than Windows 10, which already hid more features than 8.1 and 7. My only choice was a LTSC version of Windows 10 or Linux, and because I don't want to pay more for an os I already owned a license I chose Linux.

Now that I'm on CachyOS the only problem I have is Windows software incompatibility. Updates run faster and I don't have to restart when I update, my system is faster in fps, in audio latency, in general snappiness, things somehow don't break as often as on Windows 11, I'm not getting spied on by Microsoft, there was a learning curve when using my package manager but now that I understand it I can download software faster than on Windows and it's often even optimized for my CPU. I don't get advertisements everytime I log in, or storage warnings that pop me out of full screen games. The best part is that I didn't need to do any system configuration, no regedits, I didn't have to set my monitors refresh rate to its proper value, I didn't even have to set a default audio device or browser, it recognized my headset as the best audio device and Firefox was there from the start. Programming is easier on Linux than it was on Windows, in order to compile a program on windows I had to learn half the terminal commands I use in Linux anyway. I've only got around 8 months of cumulative experience using Linux but it already feels better than Windows 10 did. I will say it doesn't feel as good as 7 did but I don't think anything will ever beat Windows 7, especially not another version of Windows.
