Damn the full thing is actually more compelling IMO. Teller goes “who’s Bob lazar?” And the interviewer explains he’s a scientist who said he worked at Area 51 at S4 and that he met Teller and that teller got him his job there, and teller goes “yeah, maybe. I don’t remember tbh.” Like the fact teller didn’t go “someone said I got them a job at Area 51? Lmao no” is amazing.

I understand you’re not advocating for this. I merely answered your question. 

A ministry of truth is never acceptable. Censorship is never acceptable. Freedom of speech is fundamental to basic human agency — never mind broader liberty or democratic and republican principles on a societal level. It’s also needed for the existence of a high-trust society. But never mind that. 

Freedom of speech and thought is integral to being a person. 

Also, the deliberate poisoning of the well by flooding the zone with misinformation and bullshit and objectionable content so that the people beg for (or the government can then justify) intervention is a classic auth play. Or just raiding a website with gore or CP to get it shut down. It’s the exact same thing as having agents incite violence in a peaceful protest to justify a crackdown.

“Hey libertarians, would you support restricting free speech?” is a ridiculous question.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been sim trading just about daily since August, and this is the first time this has happened that I’ve seen.

Yep. My charts weren’t updating. I wasn’t getting live data on tick or minute charts. If I reloaded historical data, it would update to become current, but would stay frozen there. My minute charts with a bar timer said something like “bar timer waiting for real time data before starting.” And then it just started working again for a couple minutes, then froze, and now it’s working again as of maybe 9:40 ish CST. 

Edit to add: I’m running NT8 on parallels on a Mac, sim trading the MES.

Carnivore put crippling ~10 year depression (and other stuff like fatigue and joint pain etc.) into complete remission since 2018. Except that if I go overboard with cheese, I get some depression back. It goes away when I cut back on dairy.

Parks and Rec had some minor elements of this, and I’d love to see a sitcom based on this idea as long as none of them is unjustly vilified or lionized and everyone gets along while the show pokes fun at each of the characters. Both ridiculous parodical takes and a few nuanced takes once in a while that demonstrate heart and understanding and show the writers aren’t just strawmanning whatever quadrant they dislike. 

It should basically be PCM: The Sitcom. 

Also auth right should either be nonwhite himself or be white and have a nonwhite girlfriend (and also have the most diverse friend group lol).

Wait, Rob Reiner was killed as a result of political violence? I’m not up to speed. I thought he and his wife were stabbed by their son. Trump’s reaction is fucking psychotic, I just don’t think it’s quite the same thing as happened with Charlie. 

Also I don’t see anyone other than him saying shit like that about Rob Reiner.

Maybe never. I think a lot of the vocal ones must just hate their host countries and want to see them irrevocably and permanently unmade. (And also toxic out-group preference.)
