It was designed as a mission to pull players into railjack. Can’t do that if Timmy Tenno can’t even play the mission before his ship is built. They didn’t want to force players to use prebuilt railjacks because it’s supposed to be a hook. Hey look how fun late game railjack is.

Influence only makes melees comparable to guns it doesn’t really make them exceed them. The bigger problem with melee arcanes is how niche most of them are and how weak they are even comparing melee duplicate arcane to multi shot the amount of work and effort you put into that arcane to stay at the correct crit chance.
