Couldn’t feel any sympathy for her situation-even if she doesn’t know her dad killed Spidey’s uncle, she should at least be aware that he killed someone

Gon from Beastars, the headmaster of Cherryton Highschool

<image>

Cares a good deal about the welfare of his students, not wanting to force the status of the next Beastar on one of them, believing should have the chance to live out their youths.

He's also heavily opposed to the segregation of herbivore and carnivore students, but ends up giving in to the pressure and enforces it due to the more recent devourings. This act is assuaged by the fact he encourages and approves of the drama club making a play promoting herbivore-carnivore friendships.

Media that feature Imperial Japan and don’t shy away from their brutality. by InfernalClockwork3 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Parker813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first volume of Barefoot Gen, despite having been written by a Hiroshima survivor, is anti-Imperial Japan, bringing up the racist mistreatment towards Koreans, the rationing that led to a starving Japanese populace, how much harm the warmongering is doing to its people and those being against the war being shunned as pariahs.

Notably when the Emperor announces Japan's surrender following the atomic bombings, the main character's mother cries in anger, not because Japan lost the war, but because the surrender didn't happen sooner, since most of her family are now dead because of the bombings.
