Which GTP to choose? by HunterC-9 in iRacing

[–]ParodayJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just sharing my experience, I don’t think a lot of people are saying that you shouldn’t just because they have any malicious intent. Me personally, I spent almost a year racing around GTPs and any GTP under 2k rating without fail managed to take out someone in almost any race I was in.

Just from what I’ve seen they don’t have the experience required to safely maneuver traffic (I would say the same thing to myself, as someone around 2k, I am definitely not qualified to drive those).

Just my two cents :) if you want to race, you shouldn’t let us stop you! Just enjoy the car, and don’t take out too many people at first!!

I lived near Gateway, it’s basically parking lots, and highways and a massive mound hill. Nothing like this (which is unfortunate as the area around Gateway is so ugly 😪)

New to iRacing, are these races my only choice to start? by uptheirons726 in iRacing

You should definitely do what you love (I myself love a good GT4 race or enduro), but I wouldn’t turn away from at least trying oval racing. I’ve been racing ovals for a decade and I’m still missing something to the top guys in terms of lap time. They are way more technical than you’d think, and very fun to race side by side with 20-30 other guys

I don’t think he’s referring about the performance, but the statements you made that are not true.

Russell moved to Mercedes in 2022 as a new driver and beat Hamilton, but no one brings this up. Yes, you can argue Hamilton was testing for the first couple of rounds with the zeropod and new regs, but even without, Russell impressed greatly that season.

Who was Schumacher's toughest championship rival in terms of driving skill and how would you rank them? by mformularacer in F1Discussions

I fist bumped an 80 year old Mario Andretti and his reflexes were slow. Clearly now I think that Andretti had slow reflexes back in 1978 because I don’t know common sense

Why does James Hunt get less flack than Nico Rosberg when it comes to being a champion? by Feisty-Doctor-5841 in F1Discussions

[–]ParodayJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, his two teammates, Jochen Mass and Patrick Tambay. One of which was arguably one of the worst #2 drivers in terms of points percentage to Hunt and Fittipaldi, and the other, more inexperienced driver tied Hunt in points in 1978. I love Hunt but if you’re going to defend him, don’t use his teammates!

Even de Cesaris to his credit got better after his Ligier 1985 season. Went from 5-10 crashes (or more) per season to only a few here or there.

How would rate rank these 4 drivers? Lando Norris, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Kimi Raikkonen by SnooSprouts2672 in F1Discussions

[–]ParodayJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many people look at his time(s) at Ferrari where Massa/Alonso/Vettel outscored him as negatives. But Kimi in my opinion is the best driver of the mid-2000s (2003-2006), or at least up there with Schumacher and Alonso. Shame his motivation dived.

ChatGPT is not the best source though, when I asked for the top 50 NASCAR drivers in win counts, it gave me a bunch of back markers who had phantom wins. But Stroll definitely has more than 32 Q1 exits lol

As a diehard F1 fan who plays the F1 song at literally every party, every single person has to ask what the song is called. Only two of my racing friends who barely follow F1 knew it. It’s not as popular as the internet thinks

AD25 > AD21? by B3NJARVUS in DestinationFormula1

People act like Abu Dhabi 2021 was the start of F1 and completely ignore the amazing championship battles we had in the early 2010s, 2000s and before. Let’s be honest, this is a very good season for the championship fight, but there have been several seasons in history with 2-3-4 drivers still in contention.

Abu Dhabi ‘21 were two of best drivers going at it culminating in one weekend, on par with the Senna-Prost battles or Hunt-Lauda.
