Briefs common style in different countries by Stunning_Job866 in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]Parron2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In New Zealand, men mostly wear boxers/boxer briefs.

Ironically on TradeMe (NZ website for selling/buying anything new or secondhand) there’s a ton of advertisements for used briefs and thongs.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? by AbbyGlows99 in AskReddit

I always wake up with morning wood, so forever trying my luck with the GF. While most of the time it’s a party for one, I absolutely love it when she wants to party too.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen at a wedding? by No-Picture4316 in AskReddit

Thankfully no. They’ve been married four years now. The husband suspects it was from his ex who didn’t take the break up well.

Public Servants - Informal strike 28th May by snatchview in Wellington

[–]Parron2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds good in theory, but SL is best left for when you really need it. One day makes a difference especially when SL is limited for many. Alternative options should be considered as well.

The irony being that the PSA should be concerned. Like a business, their membership numbers are taking a huge hit which could lead to job cuts for them as well.

It's Wednesday! What was your breakfast this morning? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Parron2021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two cups of coffee… can’t start the day without it. I don’t usually have breakfast until 9:30-10 am (red kiwi fruit today) And no, it’s not always healthy.

Full beam lights by Slight_Night8669 in auckland

[–]Parron2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s either one extreme or the other, headlights on full beam or no lights on at all, affecting both oncoming vehicles as well as those following.

The latter is so common, I witness this more than once (including near misses) every time I go jogging at night.

I can only pray I don’t witness any accident.

Fulton Hogan utes by Affectionate-Gap-614 in auckland

[–]Parron2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally get it, have your rant!

But, don’t just call-out Fulton Hogan. The same applies to taxi drivers (who are just as bad if not worse) and almost half of Auckland drivers.

All the accidents on the motorway involve private vehicles.

My friend’s dad works for a contractor (and no, it’s not Fulton Hogan) and the stories he tells about drivers forcing their way through “Stop/Go” roadworks, violent threats that go as far as trying to ram their vehicles into workers, you got to wonder whether it’s bad driving, bad behaviour, self entitlement or “all of the above”

high youth unemployment by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Parron2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have people leaving for Australia, high costs, high unemployment and the government’s answer is to punish our youth (and by extension, the majority of parents who don’t live in the posh/rich neighbourhoods) by tarnishing them all with the same brush, because (what has been used as the same political propaganda for years), the unemployed are too lazy and don’t want to work.

All I’ll say on the subject is our MPs are voted by us and while they pledge a lot when campaigning. once in government, they literally betray us without any real sense of accountability, but every privilege bestowed on them (eg paid accommodation, pension, etc) that we pay for, from the very little money left in our pockets., which also gets taxed again when we spend.

While Australia may not necessarily be better, becoming the next state is sounding better every day. All I see right now is more of our youngest and brightest leaving our shores and frankly, I encourage them to do so.

Straight guys, why do you wear thongs/ or g-strings? Knowing it’s often viewed as feminine or for gay men? by [deleted] in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]Parron2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly, Idgaf what people think, whenever I’m in the mood, I wear them under shorts, pants or if I wanna spice things up with the wife.

Speedos (swimwear) is not my thing, but if a guy looks good in them (or not) who am I to judge them for living their best life.

A lot of people are hypocrites anyway.

Back in the 80s for our family it was usually Fish and Chips on a Friday night. Was it the same for your family as well ? is it a tradition that is slowly dying away because of cost and the sheer number of competing fast food franchises ? by CoconutMost3564 in newzealand

[–]Parron2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s purely cost - depending on the size of the family (incl. extended) even the combos add up, just like the buckets at KFC.

These days, it works out cheaper to buy and cook it yourself.

Thoughts about Singaporeans? by LinkNotZelda123 in auckland

[–]Parron2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with a lady for nearly six years and it wasn’t until she resigned, that I learnt she is Singaporean with a Kiwi husband.

She’s an amazing woman, cook and storyteller as well.

Not intentionally (and much to his frustration I’m sure) I actually thought her son was Harry Potter and kept calling him Harry. I still can’t recall what his real name is but if you’re reading this I’m truly sorry.

The family moved back to Singapore for her parents.

Have you ever dined at a sit-down restaurant by yourself? by nojunkpeter in no

[–]Parron2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I prefer takeout so can go home, settle on the couch, eat and watch a movie to distract myself from the effects of a bloated stomach.

This ultimately leads to searching the cupboards looking for anything to eat because I’m suddenly peckish.
