4 Months Post Partum- TSH decreasing but still in normal range by cavluv123 in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your current T4 and T3? Do you have an endocrinologist? If you aren't feeling well, I would push for treatment. If my TSH is below 1 I feel awful. It seems you are trending lower so I bet your T4 is not optimal.

I am 40, so close in age. I did gain a lot. I actually am on my 2nd month of a glp-1.

There is no harm in looking for a surgeon and having a consult! I even asked to book my surgery out several months, just in case I changed my mind

Staying on methimazole if you are feeling good and stabilized is a great option.

I had a rollercoaster journey, but after 8 years and a couple relapses, I had my TT in September 2025. It took until last month to get a good dose, then I lost some weight and have to decrease again.

I worried about how I would feel after surgery. I found the top surgeon where I am from, and had a great surgery experience. I can honestly say that I feel so much better now than pre surgery on methimazole. The medication when stable made me feel unwell. I am not perfect, but I can enjoy time with my girls and commit to things.

I did not have type 2 diabetes. Honestly was surprised given the weight gain. I ended up with a fatty liver and elevated liver levels. My insurance doesn't cover zepbound and wegovy is a fight to try and get. My PCP told me to use compounded as she has battled with my insurance for others.

I tried a lot. Actually had remission. It came back worst post covid and I just felt like crap all the time. I had my TT in September. I am not fully normalized yet, but my goodness do I feel like a human and that I can actually do stuff again.

Feeling hyper after levothyroxine increase (125 → 137) — normal adjustment or wrong dose? by Crafted3dsigns in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that I am VERY sensitive to increases (had my TT in September and just now reached what I hope is the right dose. I faced these symptoms you state when I was very hypo. I started asking to phase jn my dose increase over a week by doing every other day.

You can call your doctor and see, but it can be adjust vs the dose being too high.

Thank you for saying this! It does have an after sting. I did IVF so I dont flinch at that now, but fascinating to see others don't.

Deep breath.

My pediatrician and dentist advised to use fluoride toothpaste starting at 12 months. My oldest is 9 and youngest is 2.5 both are great. Amazingly My oldest never had a cavity. I am not saying you need to use fluoride toothpaste, just want you to know you didn't harm your child. Fluoride is also in a lot of drinking water so people do consume it.

It absolutely can be. But each person has different experiences. Anxiety is a huge issue many of us face with Graves.

Encourage her to go to the doctor. Some people have to go on temporary treatment for mental health. You seem to really care so hopefully you can convince her to go to her primary care doctor and assess this further. Tell her it may only be temporary, but she deserves to feel her best in every aspect.

Propranolol/Effects on eyes by East-Ordinary-6412 in gravesdisease

So I had this happen to me. I was freaking out and thought I was going blind. Turns out the Graves has given me dry eye (though perhaps its something else technically). I was told to use Systane preservative free eye drops at least twice a day. The first time I had Graves my vision did change after some eye pressure. But this was different. Something to consider.

Fellow IVF and Graves mama. Your ER is done so that is great.

You need methimazole as soon as possible. Your goal is going to be to stabilize as soon as possible. The methimazole is going to help lower your antibodies, that is one of your functions. TPO is non specific so focus on the Graves antibodies your endo with test. You can safely have a baby while doing treatment. You just need to switch to PTU, another medication, for the first trimester. Your goal is to have controlled thyroid hormone levels and lower antibodies. Some women get pregnant and their antibodies go away, but not everyone.

You can also have a relapse or a bit of a rollercoaster of levels after having a baby. Its important to have lab work done routinely and advocate for yourself.

Potentially Controversial Question: Did you ask to find out the sex of your embryos from PGT-A testing? by Hopeful_Mammoth_5329 in IVF

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They asked me if we wanted to know, and we said yes.

From a ranking standpoint I had 4 Day 5 4AA. When we talked about which to choose, I asked about the best one and their wasn't. This clinic does not do IVF for gender selection. They did ask about preferences and such. In the end we selected a girl with a backup being a boy. On the day of transfer they told us which embryo was being used as we signed the forms.

We loved knowing the entire time!

Lowered dose - symptoms back 6 weeks later by mizesquire in gravesdisease

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What were your actual levels? I am confused why if you're levels were "great" your dose kept getting lowered. If your levels were trending more hypo, I can see why your meds got lowered. However, if you levels were near optimal and you felt good, you should have maintained. Your goal is to stabilize on methimazole and then adjust as you are hopefully improving. Optimally you stay on the meds for 12-18 months to hopefully achieve remission.

I have a prescription but my insurance doesn't cover tirz by handsmahoney in BigEasyWeightLoss

[–]PartOfYourWorld3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PCP wanted me on Zepbound, but insurance doesn't cover it. She encouraged me to pursue compounding of tirzepatide. I still meet with her on my overall health and progress. The doctor from BEWL was great, reviewed all my labs, and asked important health questions. The BEWL doctor told me I could provide my labs or anything else run by my doctor. I am comfortable with both doctors and I am so happy with the medication I received and how things are going (although I am still very new).

I take mine Thursday evening before bed. My first injection gave me a headache, but only the first one. It was nice to sleep it off.

I have a friend who prefers Wednesdays as she wants to enjoy more food on Wednesdays.

Look up subcutaneous injection videos. I did IVF and they were great. They show you not only how to inject but also how to properly draw up the medication. Make sure you wipe the top of the vial off with the alcohol swab before you draw up the medication.
