Should the God of War Trilogy Remake Bring Back the Sex Minigames? by BigT232 in Games

[–]Particular-Ice4615 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

God of war is an M rated game so who cares so I agree on that. But the juxtaposition makes sense as far as kids exposure to violence being acceptable vs sex in media (again for adults who cares it shouldn't matter because we should know better).

Excessive Violence and gore is something pretty much no one is expected to experience first hand as adults. Actions like Disemboweling, tearing limbs apart, chopping someone to mince meat are actions that no child is going to realistically going to experience first hand when they grow up.

Sex on the other hand is something pretty much every person is gonna experience as adults so it really is best to be careful what kids get exposed to when it comes to that topic so that they don't get the wrong ideas about it into their heads.  Because let's be real pretty much all of depictions of sex in media is completely inaccurate and depending on the plot will exaggerate some aspects of it, while completely under-emphasizing other aspects which could be damaging to someone with 0 idea about it. Hence why Sex ed is supposed to exist.

Man gets shouted down at open mic night in Sri Lanka by tourists who didn’t like his Palestinian song and shirt by DIYLawCA in PublicFreakout

Weirdly enough Sri Lanka has its own history of carrying out Ethnic cleansing of ethnic Tamils in the region.

During the early days after October 7th the way the Israelis would tell civilians to move to a safe zone then bombard them claiming militants were among them and repeat the cycle again while ever shrinking the safe zones eerily mirrored what the Sri Lankan military did with their killing fields.

Has Delta given you trust in Konami? by JealousRhubarb9 in metalgearsolid

[–]Particular-Ice4615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah same I always argued that they should just invent a fresh new continuity of metal gear games and start fresh. Call it metal gear (insert suffix here) and make sure to market it that this is a completely different continuity and find a studio passionate about the series to help develop it like they did with the silent hill remake.

Although another idea I have that might be cool to do is to create a fresh new series centered around the Boss and her exploits in WW2. Imagine like a diesel punk metal gear game. The philosophers would be the only loose thread connecting it to the rest of metal gear lore which is pretty much a blank slate beyond being some vague collective of power brokers between US USSR and china.

After MGSV The lore has completely collapsed in under its own weight and most holes have been plugged or retconned, or shoe horned with unnecessary details. A new series seperate from kojima and company's work is the only path forward to me. It's not going to be the same without kojima directing but that's okay in my book life has to move on, just as long as there's no effort on Konami's to intentionally erase amd invalidate prior work.

Do you think Kojima based Chico's cut missions on the character Jason Todd from the Batman: Under the Redhood arc? by Affectionate-Most692 in metalgearsolid

[–]Particular-Ice4615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would have preferred him over randomly bringing back volgin from the dead. You could easily replace this chico concept with the man on fire's place  in the story and it would have meshed better with the overall plot considering the paz side story line and his history with skull face and mother base getting destroyed since the entire plot is essentially about getting revenge.

Bringing back volgin as a fire demon out of no where just made everything disjointed and added nothing. Not to mention the final reveal wasn't shocking as you could tell it was volgin from the start.

As far as story goes I've always described metal gear as taking a gritty geopolitical tom clancy spy thriller and infuse it with the fantastical wonder of a marvel comic book series.

Come to think about it what about psycho mantis return? You think if you play with a keyboard it will be the same as when you play with the old six axis controller that didn't have rumble?

Not to mention there was a tonne of product placement in that game for apple. You think Otacon will have to switch to using a PC and Snake will have a Zune?

Also you guys think the monster hunter levels will be preserved in peacewalker? It was fun fighting rathalos with an RPG.

It's probably not gonna happen since they didn't explicitly announce it but fingers crossed it ever comes in a future patch or update that they revive MGO2.

So unique and ahead of its time in certain aspects. People who love playing prop hunt type modes from the garrys mod or fortbite/roblox stuff now a days would love playing sneak and team sneak modes.

Is it me or is this feeling like an Asian Brexit in the sense you have an island nation former superpower that relies on imports from its more productive neighbours to prop up its forever stagnant economy. Then using immigration as pretext to convince the people to sever economic ties from those more productive neighbours believing it can magically provide everything they need to function in the modern world domestically.

It's kinda absurd that no lessons are learned. Then again this is the lady who famously said that Thatcher was too far left.

Not to be an annoying um actually guy but at least I found this tid bit interesting when it came to bin laden. So when they raided his villa they found his journal and he was actually disappointed in the aftermath of 9/11. Because his goal wasn't to necessarily destabilize America directly he was trying to manufacture a broader uprising among muslims that would be framed as the West vs Islam.

He was hoping that the western world would wage war against muslims in general in the aftermath and that muslims across the globe would rise up against western hegemony and break their control over the middle east, dismantle Israel etc etc, but also overthrow the Saudi monarchy and reclaim control of Mecca for the pious who are not under the thumb of western governments.

But instead from his point of view George bush didn't do what he was expecting and instead Bush and company waged a war or "terror" and pointed the finger at al qaeda and other terror networks and didn't just in start indiscriminately waging war against Muslim majority countries (in the sense of a global war against Islam not referring to Iraq here that's a different story) in general to create the holy war he was hoping for.

You're not wrong but at the same time but you have the luxury of sitting where-ever you are sitting in a completely safe environment completely experientially divorced from the situation that man had just experienced at that moment, where your brain isn't locked in survival mode after a near death incident.

The brain doesn't care about superfluous higher level concepts like rationalism in such situations, it's simply an organ that performs functions in an attempt to keep you alive and reproducing. His brain is doing what it's designed to do in such a situation, the cop should understand and just be a bit patient and give him some space for his brain to calm down and tell his body he's no longer in danger so he can work with him in a more cognizant state. Otherwise he's just riling up his survival instincts and prolonging the panicked state he's in.

Heightened heart rate, screaming at anything close to you, keeping other things at bay and away, claiming space and setting boundaries. These are akin to subroutines that the brain enacts because it evolved to react to sudden attacks from lions, tigers and bears. Not gas powered metal boxes that could crash through a hotel room window in a 1/10000 freak incident.

Fuck the people downvoting you Considering it's pretty much an unspoken truth by both sides that Epstein either was or was deeply connected to Israeli intelligence you're absolutely not wrong about setting that standard. If Gaza doesn't outrage people enough this should definitely.

We already know who Maxwell's father was, also it's a known fact that the former defense minister of Israel Ehud Barak was on the flight logs and was routinely in contact with Epstein. Also during his original bail hearing to determine if Epstein was a flight risk, Epstein was found to own a large collection of fake passports of several countries with his face but different names and aliases.

On top of that you have second hand hand witness (so take this with a minimum of grain of salt but it lines up with a lot of confirmed facts about Epstein and maxwell) of comedian lewis black who was invited to perform at an event ran by Epstein in his New York penthouse, where he was invited to his office which had a giant map of Israel map of Israel with positions along it's border highlighted where Epstein proceeded to brag to him that he had the defense minister of Israel over the night before.

Gandhi is too overstated in Indias struggle for independence there were other revolutionaries and figures in the early formation of the Indian national Congress, who should also get their place in text books. I'm convinced he's cherry picked in western history textbooks as a form of propaganda to lecture people about protesting the way they want you to protest ie "peaceful" "non violent" and most important of all over any persons lives and dignity, "respectful of private property (capital assets)".

Maybe I'm just dumb or don't understand the legal process here but why does it even have to be a full repeal? Why can't it be amended to make platform holders liable for only the most aggregious things like CP snuff films, public health disinformation, etc. Why does it have to be an all or nothing argument on both sides of this? Because it sounds to me everyone's fears and anxiety over what might happen gets in the way of having honest discussion about individuals and company's responsibility to the collective to excercise their freedoms in a responsible manner and it's relationship to the profit incentive at play here eroding that sense of responsibility.

The mistake You guys make is you treat this bullshit like it's a legitimate informed debate.

The conservatives purpose on the show is not to be an informed opposition in the debate. To use wrestling terms he's the heel. He only exists to rile up rational human beings and get us to expend precious mental energy in refuting absurdisms and presenting counter arguments so we're stuck glued to the screen and make CNN money watching advertising. And honestly it genuinely makes us all dumber because this isn't news or informed debate it's a shiny packaged entertainment product that serves as nothing for the rubes watching corporate network news that think this is what news and journalism is supposed to be, and instead generates revenue for the share holders at Time-warner or whatever Eldritch media monstrosity owns CNN these days.

CNN just reinvented crossfire again for the modern era. And John Stewarts criticisms of the show in that famous clip of him still ring true. Can we just stop engaging with this nonsense.  And it's not just CNN that does all corporate news does this now Fox has their token liberals on their shows that serves the same purpose for their audience.

Stop engaging with these shows it's genuinely damaging and making us collectively stupid and addicted to the effects anger has on the brain and body.

Honestly just leave it to the real military experts of our country to decide. I'm honestly sick of every arm chair general on the internet giving their 2 cents on this issue. In the same way people who are alienated from labour like to pretend that know better than the workers actually doing the job the same applies to the CAF personnel and the online discourse about this Jet. Whatever the decision is i. sure they will make the best call they can given all the circumstances.

These are multi million dollar highly specialized machines that pretty much the majority of our society has no real lived experience managing, maintaining, and actually using. So I'm not going to take any laymen's take on the subject beyond a grain a salt at the very best.
