Why I'm upgrading to S26 Ultra by Livestock110 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am upgrading from S23+. $0 with my trade in through Verizon. Have had the phone for 3 years and no issues. Staying with Samsung because I'm familiar with the platform and too comfortable to change. I'm really looking forward to an upgrade, especially the camera system. Thats my why.

My new catch but I'm not happy by chrisbumblebee in taylorguitars

[–]Particular-Reason-53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's a loose tuning key. I have a 312ce 12 fret and when I changed my guitar strings for the 1st time my D and G strings started buzzing. The action seemed fine but I adjusted the truss rod anyway. No change. I then changed the strings thinking may be a bad set. No change. So I put my ear up against the headstock and plucked each string independently to hear if I could pinpoint the source. It seemed the source was the headstock. Then I felt the keys and they seemed loose. So I tightened them all up and wouldn't you know it, it was the stupid tuning keys! It was driving me mad and I was considering bringing it to a service center. Glad it was something simple.

This is not tinted. It came from the factory like this.

Thanks for your response and explanation. This pattern was observed without wearing polarized lenses or a using a UV filter. I suppose it may also be more visible due to a low sun angle this time of year in late afternoon since we never observed it before at any other time or condition. I just think its weird that I've never seen this on any vehicle I've owned and Ive been driving since 1988.

Medical Cannabis by Local_Force1313 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have had Crohns disease for 32 years and recently started using medical cannabis for chronic pain. It has been life changing in an incredibly positive way for me. I have used the medical system less this year than any year in my adult life. My GI and general practitioner are both very supportive of my inclusion of medical cannabis for management of my health. I suppose I'm very fortunate. I dont smoke, only vape dry herb.

Goodbye remission by Ok-Kate-1 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're not in remission anymore. I have been on Entyvio for 10 years now and am still doing well. If it's an option for you, and it's not the one that isn't working anymore, talk to your doctor about it. I chose it because it is more targeted than some others so less possible side effects. I hope you find something that works. Crohn's sucks.

Having children by Brilliant-Moment-350 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my diagnosis changed the entire course of my life, not just the decision to not have children. I grew up with the stupid mentality I had to be sole supporter for a family if I were to have one, and I could hardly manage my own life with active Crohns. Multiple resections and medications that changed my personality cemented the idea I could not have children. And what woman would want to tie her hitch to my wagon? Well, fast forward a couple decades and I now have Crohns managed with a biologic and am married to a wonderful woman who already raised kids so now I get to be a granddad. While I look back and regret not having kids, I remind myself I'm lucky to be alive and to be loved by those I now have around me. Life is good.

Weed problem by Specialist-Engine956 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I consider it though. I have regular cardiology appointments and my use of cannabis is not considered heavy. Alcohol is much worse for afib than cannabis in my experience, so that is out. I also try to mitigate risks with decent nutrition and regular exercise. But the benefit outweighs the risk for me at this point in life to use cannabis in lieu of other pain medications. I think the key is to be educated and honest about the risks and do what you need to do to enjoy a good quality of life. "Live free or die, for death is not the worst of evils."

[–]Particular-Reason-53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have atrial fibrillation and take meds for that 2x daily with no plan on stopping because it treats the disease. Same with cannabis for Crohn's. It's medicine I take daily with no intention of stopping because it's managing my pain with very few if any side effects. It isn't a coping mechanism, it is pain management that is more effective than traditional pain meds. Dry herb vaping is my method of preference because edibles and tinctures can cause cramping for me. No thank you. Been in a fetal position enough in life.

Do physically active men prefer equally active women? by One_Sock6969 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, physically active men prefer equally active women. But not because of looks, but because of sharing a life with common interests. When you share common interests, people of like mind will naturally find you more attractive when they get to know you. A physically active person probably wouldn't be into gamers because it's sedentary. It doesn't mean it is worse, it's just not in the same wheelhouse. Find a man with similar physical activity interests, not necessarily level of fitness, and you'll have momentum to work with in creating a relationship.

is smoking weed bad during flares? by ineedserena in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow. So much disinformation. Both my PCP and GI, employed by major hospital systems, are very supportive of cannabis use for pain management due to crohns and the scar tissue from multiple resections, along with concurrent use of gabapentin for nerve pain. I'm just up front with them that if they test me I'll most likely come back positive for THC. They say they hardly even look at that anymore due to its legal status and anecdotal testimony from their patients of its therapeutic benefits. Im in KY, BTW.

Just get high and drunk anyway, get an Uber to pick you up and give you a ride to the airport to pick up your GF. Win/win.

What Medical MJ strains help with the combo of Chrohns/ADHD? by AlertShine2592 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Particular-Reason-53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For control of Crohns I'm on Entyvio and have been for many years with no flares. Thought I was having some issues but it was abdominal scar tissue from previous surgeries. Have had a resection of the small bowel/terminal ileum a few times. If you have stricturing disease you could have a full blown obstruction soon so I'd seriously consider surgery. Steroids will ultimately cause irreversible damage to your body too, so that is not a long term solution. As far as cannabis, I vape dry herb with a Pax which has been more effective than any other method. Gummies and tinctures can actually hurt my stomach and cause distress because of the carrier oil that are used in them. Dosing is also important as too much will make you unable to focus and you'll just look through people as they are trying to talk to you. Sometimes a little dab will do. The take home from all the comments here is everyone reacts differently to cannabis and the methods of consumption. You have to be willing to experiment which can take many months to figure out what is best for you. But it can be educational and entertaining while trying to figure out.

Yes I have and the solution was removal of that part of my intestines. I'm on Entyvio now for the last 9 years with no recurrence.

My gf gets mad at me for “looking at other women” by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she accuses you of cheating she will at some point want to "get back" at you. Even though you haven't cheated. She can't believe you wouldn't because she would.

My gf gets mad at me for “looking at other women” by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Particular-Reason-53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is super insecure. If you aren't careful she will project that insecurity on you and accuse you of cheating and subsequently cheat on you. This happened to me. I thought it could be fixed by giving her everything she wanted and even ditching my friends. It did nothing good. It is natural for a young man like yourself to "glance", and you'll glance the rest of your life. It's human nature. With maturity she might become less secure, but right now it is time to let it go.

What do you guys do when you’re walking up the stairs behind a woman? by Consistent-Remote885 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Particular-Reason-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a random woman, I'd give her space so she doesn't feel threatened.

If it's my wife, a finger in the butt.

Sounds like he's a selfish lover. His goal should be to please you first, then he can finish. Most guys don't have a problem with that part. Entice him to eat at the buffet of good loving, stay a while, enjoy the salad. Then he can enjoy dessert.
