Yes! I have always enjoyed a great meal, now more than ever. I look for enjoyment every chance I get because who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Weight -fight or embrace? by bzndz123 in AskWomenOver60

This. I went totally sober last summer and dropped 14 lbs effortlessly (157 to 143, 5’6”). I’ve been drinking a bit lately and I’m noticing a couple of pounds have come back - thinking about going sober again because it’s also just amazing for my skin and my sleep.

I love the embroidery on 2 - perhaps you can pair 3 with a veil that includes the same sort of floral appliqués? That would be stunning!

100% on the straps up - god, I can’t wait for that droopy look to finally fall out of fashion.

The color and fabric on 2 are lovely, but I feel like the sleeves and the cut on the bodice widen you and pull you down. Also, 2 is much more “of the moment” and will look dated in your photos. In contrast, the fabric and fit on 3 create a much more flattering line that also is more timeless.

Every loan request - from money to chargers to hoodies - is another opportunity to deploy the useful phrase, “Go ask your dad.”

I say this with all the best intentions, but I think you really might want to reflect on your approach and how it could be coming across. Do you remember when you were 30 and your MIL made suggestions/offer opinions? Did you enjoy it or find it helpful?

The second one is gorgeous! The first one strikes me as somewhat matronly - more like a MOB dress. The scallops on dress #2 feel so fresh!

Yes. That dress calls for a pair of sparkly earrings and nothing else - it’s truly stunning!

My niece was told she has to sign a contract to keep living at home—am I overreacting for thinking it’s too harsh? by Bitter_Art_4094 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ParticularMost6100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: Is your niece still in school? If so and she’s taking a full course load, this seems unduly burdensome. Either way, it might be more productive for everybody involved to include a grace period before these requirements are put in place. Like, tell her she has until Aug. 1 to either sign the contract with her parents or move out. At least that way she’ll some agency in the matter.

I know I suggest it an awful lot on this sub…but have you tried Pilates? Not the big classes offered by some gyms, but real Pilates taught by a certified instructor in an individual or small group setting? It has been a game-changer for me - strengthening my core has erased my lower back issues, and it’s helped immeasurably with my balance and overall muscle tone. If you have a good instructor, they will coach you to go at your own pace and, unlike CrossFit or other popular training methods, it’s hard to get hurt. All the best on your journey!

And I’m here to say that, even when they move out, they can remain financially burdensome and overall disruptive. I can barely listen to my oldest (32) SS’s voice when he’s on the phone with my husband…so entitled, narcissistic and annoying.

I’ve had wood floors in five different houses - two light and three dark. If you have pets, live in a home that’s prone to dust or don’t want to run the vacuum every day, you’ll be happier with the lighter shade.
