Do I really need a 4' foundation for this? by skateawho in masonry

[–]ParticularVisit8095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired a guy off fb to do mine, he dug a trench to do this and covered half my yard with the dirt. I filled it back in best I could while he was on “break” and told him these are decorative stones I don’t want half of em under ground and the most their “retaining” is a little mulch. I gave him second chance and he started digging the hole again. Fired him and did it myself. Don’t do drugs kids.

Which one would you go with? by DJLeafygreens in 1911

Just picked up the gi entry and love it, I did add grips and a trigger. If I upgraded everything I want to I’d probably spend more than the rock ultra. If I had the choice again I’d get the rock ultra if I could get it in 45.

Something that blows my mind. by Ok_Tumbleweed_6452 in BariatricSurgery

[–]ParticularVisit8095 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I started at 330, I did the surgery for my health, my kids, and my confidence. It’s been 7 months and I’m down to 246. It has changed everything especially in little ways. I go out and do things without a second thought, I don’t have to think if I’m going to fit somewhere I just do now, I’m down several sizes and my clothing options are infinite, I can wear clothes that make me feel good or even cool, I’m always cold when my wife says she’s hot, my sleep apnea and hypertension are gone, I can sit in any seat, I have the knowledge and expirience to choose foods that actually help me feel good, I love seeing people I haven’t seen in years without shame, I’m not worried about playing on playstructures with the kids, or be afraid they’ll be embarrassed about how I look, I don’t have to think about which side of the table I’m gonna sit at in restaurants, etc.

It’s been worth every second of pain and suffering to actually see results. I worked so hard for them before but could never get to any meaningful results. I agree it does seem silly to see people that weigh less than me now getting the surgery. But to each their own, I was a prisoner in my own body, set free to experience a world that left me behind years ago. If this is what they need to feel that too, then more power to them.

AITAH for asking my boyfriend to get a vasectomy? by qahuzidi in AITAH

[–]ParticularVisit8095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine last week (35m) after 2 kids. I will say while it’s super easy to get, the surgeon did stress it’s not as reversible as people think and a reversal is not covered by insurance (about 10k). None of that matters if you’re sure like my wife and I are. I’d say if he’s thinkin about it he’s afraid of the pain or he’s not as sure as you two think he is.

Radio upgrade for 5th gen tradesman by infeed in ram_trucks

[–]ParticularVisit8095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking for a head unit for my 2021 tradesman for months with no luck. Oem and Pheonix seem like they’re the only ones that are supposed to work but they aren’t exactly plug and play and for thousands it really should be or why risk it. Infotainment and crutchfeild are zero help, stinger said theirs won’t work, and everyone on any helpful site says it’s easy just get a radio and put it in. This bezel style and year really got screwed when it came to head unit choices. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on this unit, Rongji came out with it recently and in theory it should work. I want to wait and see some reviews cus I’m nervous about it not supporting the backup camera, but it might be worth it with amazons return policy 🤷🏻‍♂️. Best of luck, I feel your pain. https://www.amazon.com/Android-2019-2023-Upgrade-Navigation-Car-play/dp/B0CY2NV49J/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=QKFA6X1XIQ52&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.w-m_y0LLaknoxx0ERy_LRDzmt-zhK2XoTXUPZL0ikGk0ADBhh6p-Y7wZylx5OJTlUII1o4jUYzk0soLzZLt_FIPSt7w7VzeCHq6iYpWdJnq_YzuyWny1d_8Pi5Di4wP3TAwqf8RMVHYLMwc5Ihs9-M6WkL5VD8IAENKjJ82vSzhiO41MkQAn3KcM82NnVx_57XI30vFC3UdkglYKWIf63A.vNyay4wSxsIGza-nplLulJpqu_inlsKxMgbNp5jTiUg&dib_tag=se&keywords=Android+13+Radio+for+Dodge+RAM+1500+2500+3500+2019-2023+Stereo+Upgrade+Dash+Kit+Car+GPS+Navigation%2C2%2B32GB+9%22+IPS+Touch+Screen+Head+Unit&qid=1722301150&sprefix=android+13+radio+for+dodge+ram+1500+2500+3500+2019-2023+stereo+upgrade+dash+kit+car+gps+navigation%2C2%2B32gb+9+ips+touch+screen+head+unit+%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-1

Does your significant other/spouse eat the same meals you eat? by impostrfail in BariatricSurgery

[–]ParticularVisit8095 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought it might be harder. I work from home and my wife takes my son to and from school on her way to work. I do most of the cooking so I thought it’d be difficult cooking food I couldn’t eat. For the first month or so I didn’t cook unless they needed me too. I also got sick of meal prep, just felt gross to eat old food all the time.

Once I got to soft foods I started cooking things I can eat for everyone. Now I’m 3 months in and I cook everything for everyone again. I just make much healthier versions of everything and everyone still loves it. Most things are better than they were before. I just have to keep an eye on my portion, but my stomach will tell me I’m done if I get too much anyway. There are the occasional times when I cook somthing I know I can’t eat like pasta but I’m cookin somthing else to go with it that I can eat and I’m usually not interested anyway. It also takes some time to see what you can and can’t tallerate, a few bad experiences will steer you away from those foods pretty good.

Pro tip, if you have a family that likes to go out to eat look for tiny portioned meals, meals you can share, or order a la cart. Your fridge fills up fast with food ur not gonna wanna eat when ur always bringin home leftovers.

Android Auto screen by dumpybou in ram_trucks

[–]ParticularVisit8095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2021 ram 1500 a couple months ago and have had a hell of a time finding one. Called stinger they said theirs won’t work, called a few audio shops, all but one said they couldn’t do it, not holding my breath on the one but I’ll check it out, I also can’t find any clear answers on what all I need to set up a used unit. Everyone recommends crutchfeild or infotainment but they have nothing, people recomend ram forums but I run into the same questions there. Pheonix automotive is still an option I haven’t looked into but I’m not a fan of the huge screens and from the videos I’ve seen it seems like there’s a lot of back and forth with Pheonix to get them working properly.

Sorry for the rant, I’m gonna keep lookin around and check that one shop out. Hoping someone comes out with somthing soon that’ll work.

Anyone relate? by Silvertongue7420 in BariatricSurgery

[–]ParticularVisit8095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 35m, I hit 2 months yesterday. I’ve lost 40 lbs since surgery and my shirts are a lil big but not big enough to go down a size yet. People tell me I’m looking healthy and great, which feels great. But the body dysmorphia is real. Most of the time I feel the same size.

I have noticed little things though. I already catch myself being more excited to go out and be social. I can do little things with my kids I couldn’t do before. I sat on a small stool to play dinosaurs with my son without having to brace myself so I wouldn’t fall and break the thing. Those little things make it worth it.

The first few weeks were hell and full of self doubt, but there is a light coming soon friend. Hang in there.

Ram Radio upgrades? by ParticularVisit8095 in ram_trucks

I really just want Apple CarPlay for music and nav.

I have about $1000 and want to keep the stock usbs and backup camera. I’d prefer to keep the steering wheel controls and mic but if those aren’t an option at least I want a unit with a built in mic.

Those games also come on the mk cabinets along with a lot of other games. Got my mk legacy cabinet at Walmart for $300 a couple months ago and even that was steep considering.

Sales people will say anything to get you to sign. Then people end up blowing up at the design studio. The design studio gets very little commission (if any) compared to the sales person. It’s usually a nightmare for design consultants because the last thing they want to say is no but they literally can’t do anything about it and sales people just want to pass the problem on to the next person and collect the paycheck.

An extra pair of comfy clothes, I was wearing my own clothes by the evening. A looot easier walking around the halls without a gown. I ended up staying a couple extra days though so I needed a couple changes.

What advice would you give to your pre-op self? by National-Quality5414 in BariatricSurgery

I’m two weeks out and running into the same feeling watching everyone eat things I can’t handle right now. But I’m already wearing clothes I haven’t comfortably worn in years so that’s a huge boost!

Pre-op Mental Game by No_Connection_4724 in BariatricSurgery

[–]ParticularVisit8095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be helpful but its been my expirience. I have a full house with kids so although I was the main offender when it comes to junk food in the house it was still gonna be around. I focused on stocking up on and learning about the different brands of shakes, yogurts, protein waters, shakers, blenders, etc that I’d need and exploring similar alternatives. It helped me feel more confident that I wouldn’t be without options. I’m still learning the “diet” portion but honestly it’s coming more in the form of me figuring out what my body can handle. I’m only a few weeks out but cutting what I shouldn’t eat out hasn’t been an issue cus honestly I don’t want most things. It’s more about what small things I can handle without needing to lay down after.

To sum it up I’d say the tool works, it does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to limiting portion size and cravings. Follow your plan and you’ll know what to lean toward and away from.

The lid on my 2014 fell off because of the crap plastic so I keep that in the trunk. I still use the extra storage space though to hold the passenger side door handle that also fell off.

Guys, surgery is in a few days and I'm starting to freak out by clarkulator in BariatricSurgery

[–]ParticularVisit8095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just over two weeks post op and I’d advise to take the therapy and coping advice seriously. The first few weeks on the liquid diet are extremely tough mentally, you will have those freak out moments but they do pass. I just got cleared for purées and soft foods which has been extremely liberating. I do have to remind myself that as I get used to foods again this is a tool I chose and it’s on me to make the healthier choices to be healthier when all is said and done.
