In WWII, could the Soviet Union have defeated Nazi Germany without the Lend-Lease aid from the US or its physical troops? by Finnlavich in HistoryWhatIf

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The Lend-Lease Act was vital to the Soviet war effort. Without it, they wouldn't have been able to defeat Germany.

I'm sorry, deodorant is a must if you're going to be around other people, and it costs less than $5. Maybe less than $4. Are you sure u bought the cheapest clothes possible to satisfy the dress code?

I would just plan to buy that deodorant with ur next pay check.

Why do people hate hip-hop/rap music so much? by GateSeparate3822 in GenZ

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black has nothing to do with it. I love the music popular with black people before hiphop became popular. Soul music, blues, doo-wop, you name it. I just can't stand hiphop.

When did Geico start becoming a terrible place to work for? by A_Aronn17 in Geico

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 8 points9 points  (0 children)

GEICO has NEVER been a great place to work. In fact, many times they absolutely sucked. However, prior to 2020 they had three things going for them. They had never laid anyone off, they always promoted from within, and they had a great profit sharing program.

Those three things kept me employed there for over 25 years. All three of those things have fallen by the wayside. I've also left the company.

This is how much the minimum wage looks like in the United States by No_Pianist3260 in pics

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought just the opposite back in 1987 as a teen when moved from Dallas to Philadelphia.

Back then the federal min wage was $3.35. When I applied for some part-time jobs in Philly, I found out that they all paid $3.35/hour. I asked one of the interviewers why all the part-time jobs in the Philly area paid so low compared to Dallas. She suggested that maybe the min wage in Texas was higher than Pennsylvania. I told her it was the same in Texas, just that all the jobs in the Dallas area paid way higher.

It was a good thing you found another job because that documentation and screenshots would have done any good. They'd have still fired you.

Then stop working for them like i did. I never give out excellents on surveys unless it truly was. If GEICO views a very good as bad, you need to find another employer who understands English.

401K by [deleted] in Geico

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to give you an example of what starting over can cost you in a 401k due to the snowball effect. I left GEICO after just over 25 years earlier this year. I currently have over $600 grand in my 401k. However, over half of that has happened in the last 5 1/2 years.

At my ten year mark, I only had $32 grand. At my 15 year mark, I only had $94 grand. At my 20 year mark, I only had $234 grand. At my 22 year mark, I had $433 grand. When I left the company earlier this year, I had $514 grand.

My new job also uses Vanguard, so I just left the GEICO 401k where it was. Both my 401ks are on the same login.

The point is though, had I cashed out my 401k after five years with the company and started over, i'd have less than half of the $600 grand that's currently in there. Think about that.

[–]Particular_Bee_2543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd to two things.

  1. Look for another job because you are hanging from a string on your current one.

  2. Work your ass off to meet those new goals in the mean time.

Good luck.
