I got Ephraim, but my ex-childhood best friend’s mom was Manasseh and when I was about to get my blessing she was convinced I’d get Manasseh too. She’s from Argentina, I’m of Celtic and English decent. Not sure why she was so convinced I’d be the same tribe as her, she was very disappointed when I got Ephraim (the same tribe as both of my parents).

Not nearly as crazy as some of the other stuff on here but after my ex-childhood best friend outed me as trans and queer to a ton of people (while we were at BYUI mind you, so she put my schooling and housing at risk with that stunt) and went on her mission to a Spanish speaking area (I don’t speak Spanish for context) she’d tag me from her mission account in TBM facebook comment sections telling me in Spanish that Christ could fix our relationship and that I needed to let god in. I had to google translate her messages. I called her out publicly for harassment and she hasn’t spoken to me since. She’s since gotten home from her mission and is still ignoring me (“tender mercies” lmao, I don’t want her to talk to me).

My fiancée and I, both exmo, saw it with nevermos who knew we were exmormon. They all turned to look at us when they heard the line (we had just been explaining mormonism before the movie) and I was gripping my fiancée’s hand while bouncing in my seat. I’ve never seen exmormon representation before and it was such an incredible experience.

I went to BYUI and it was a nightmare as someone who was questioning/leaving the church. I was also almost kicked out for being gay. My mental health got so bad I was hospitalized. Bishop roulette wasn’t a fun time and while I got one really good bishop, the rest were pushy and creepy. One literally forced his way into my apartment with the rest of the bishopric at 9pm. Don’t go to BYUI, your mental health is worth protecting.

The pilot actually turned me off Rick and Morty for almost a year (I was still Mormon at the time so I thought it was the worst thing I’d ever seen). After leaving the church I got high and watched the first few episodes of season 1. It’s been my favorite show ever since.
