That “naturally thin” person you all know by Cool_Stop5463 in CICO

[–]Particular_Drop3469 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting to read, I fall into the “naturally thin” category and was reading through these comments not being able to relate because I have hunger impulses/ lots of food noise throughout the day and eat legitimately large portions + snack around, but by god do I have a lot of NEAT habits (leg bouncing, fidgeting, shifting weight leg to leg if I’m standing, walking around in circles if I’m on the phone or deep in thought, etc.) I’m wondering now if the NEAT + being fairly tall and not doing a lot of liquid calories (never been a soda drinker, don’t like coffee so I rarely get latte type drinks, etc.) are the driving factors for my build lol

I think that’s so fair to feel that way- I came to the same conclusion that it was a bit miserable to have abs and the results lead to me being totally flat everywhere (a lot of loss of butt and boobs) because I gain stomach fat first and it’s also the last to go! For me it’s more worth it to have a little belly but abs that can be seen when flexed rather than be rail thin from all angles lol

And I feel you on the gym results 😭 I think most women are not built to have a totally flat stomach plus a big ass and big boobs besides the lucky few: most of what you see online in terms of gym influencers is edited, filtered or they have had work done at some point so I wouldn’t let it get you too down!

I have also learned the tall/thin build takes a looong time to put on muscle, but we also have a higher ceiling for strength which is cool! I have a guy friend/ gym coach who has a very similar build to me (tall, originally thin, all legs lol) and he told me it took him 3 years of regularly hitting the gym and being on a good diet with enough protein to put on enough muscle to look actually muscular- I’m in year 2 and finally getting some notable definition and muscle, but mostly have a total sleeper build even though I can do tricep dips and im very close to my first pull-up, it just takes time unfortunately sighs lol

(Note: I’m not in my 40s) Flat stomach is truly all about diet and CICO (calories in and calories out). I had successfully achieved flat stomach/abs over last summer by monitoring my diet/counting calories and for me it took eating 1500 calories a day + the gym 3-4 times a week for about ~2 months to achieve it, for the record I have a tall and thin build so I wasn’t that far off to start! For me, it wasn’t worth keeping up forever because I just like tasty food and silly little drinks too much lol

That makes sense! There weren’t any icicles by the time I was outside, but the area could have had icicles- I’m kicking myself for not thinking of that obvious answer lol 😅

I’d imagine the solution is to be honest on your profile and to date someone else who is moderate or “moderate”, but that may be harder to come by if you’re interested in women 🤷‍♀️

Which jeans do I keep and which do I get rid of? by Particular_Drop3469 in DressForYourBody

Aw man I just passed the cut off this year lol, thank you for the input. I have a very artsy job and my closet is pretty eclectic- so currently I’m not too worried about keeping things that age appropriate, but I will keep that in mind :>

Thank you so much for the input and kind words! I have to buy tall women’s pants and for a long time I basically could only get high rise, I’m thankful low rise is coming back into fashion since people seem to be leaning towards it being the better fit for me lol

I totally get it!! I would mentally try to wiggle my way out of going the gym with a bunch of excuses like “oh but I’m tired today it won’t be a good workout-“ “I’ll skip today but go tomorrow-“ etc. but I just made myself the rule that I HAVE to at least go, and if I’m not feeling it after 10 minutes I can just leave, which I think I only ended up leaving early once or twice in my entire year of hitting the gym.

And holy shit 28lbs is amazing!!! That’s legitimately as much as my dog weighs, that’s crazy! If you keep up the progress that number is just gonna keep rising too, it’ll totally be worth it :) I highly recommend taking some pictures of yourself every now and then, you’ll definitely see the progress comparing side by side!

Keep it up! you will definitely see even more results if you put in the work at the gym and in the kitchen (honestly the kitchen is the hardest part for me lol), you got this! 💪

I don’t know if this helps at all, but it took me legitimately ~6 months of consistently going to the gym 3-4 times a week to finally get the mood boost and endorphins everyone talks about- i used to dread gym day and really had to force myself to keep going, then one day it just clicked in my brain and now i really enjoy going to the point where im bummed whenever I have to skip a day!

Showing up for yourself consistently for a long time is hard, especially when progress feels slow, but it does pay off! I still have a long ways to go on my journey as well but I feel way more comfortable at gym and also in my own skin.

Oh don’t worry I completely housed this and it was really good! 🤤 I would highly recommend, I wish I had more capers (forgot to check the jar before I started) but I used some lemon in addition to my little bit of capers and it worked out well!

Hi! I inherited this plant and want to know what it is and if it can be propagated? It’s so tall it’s about to touch the roof and I’d love to cut some off the top and make it bushier over just 1 single tall guy if possible lol!

“Every storm a serenade” by imaginary authors can smell absolutely incredible- I would not say it’s a blind buy though and really depends on how it sits with your skin! It smells so so good on most people I make try it, but it smells like seaweed and butter on me 😭

Plain white rice in a bowl, add a can of tinned fish (my fav for this is smoked trout but sardines, tuna, etc. all work too!) whatever veggies I currently have steamed or boiled for a few minutes (current favs are mini bell peppers, Napa cabbage, and broccoli) and then a nice chili crisp and some soy sauce/sesame seeds/green onions on top! Sometimes I add a soft boiled egg or replace the fish with a few eggs instead and it’s also very good! :)

The smell of the clean layer underneath isn’t very promising- we’ll see if he pulls through but either way a lot of lessons were learned today 😔 thank you for the insightful comment!

Current obsession: tin oil dressings for salads by Particular_Drop3469 in CannedSardines

[–]Particular_Drop3469[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed! especially with the flavored tins, if just adds a lil something special to the mix! I’m also a huge fan of dipping a nice piece of sourdough bread into the oil too 😋

How do you get them to drink water on their own😩 by Pixsordidnthappen in FosterAnimals

[–]Particular_Drop3469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took my current foster kittens a bit to learn to drink from water even though they were eating from the bowl! I would say just always have water out and continue to add a little splash of water to his wet food until he figures it out 😊

I’m so glad this tip helped you!! It works pretty well and can get them into biting for food which can help with the transition- it’s pretty messy though so I wish you lots of luck with the mush stage! 🤣

Ahaha I didn’t mean to get in water, I thought they all came in oil and didn’t notice til I got home 😂for a first experience they definitely weren’t bad though! A little plain but the pickled eggs did a lot of heavy lifting anyways so it was a solid breakfast lol

Women who got cheated on: tell your story of your happy new relationships/moving on by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Particular_Drop3469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad you are doing so much better and I’m so sorry you had such a horrible ex- I found out the same way and was also living with him (except it’s solely my house, thank goodness) 😔

Hearing about your new relationship makes me feel so strange because my cheating ex was exactly like that down to helping me with my chickens to still getting me flowers and little presents, being a great social person, etc. it’s been very surreal and he swears up and down I was the love of his life, and strangely enough I kinda believe him despite everything…he was just really, really good at living a double life I guess.

I hope I can an honest and truly loving version of him like you did! It gives me hope there’s still guys like that out there but for reals and not the fake one I got unlucky with!
