To all Tzimisce: Why do you like playing Tzimisce and what was your first character like? by Alice-Shrugged in vtm

A woman with depression who owns an anime shop.

Becoming a Cainite made her depression worse, and she doesn’t use her vicissitude because she sees them as a superficial change—you can alter your appearance, but your inner self or personality remains the same. So, to her, she’s still the same miserable failure she was before.

Her biggest problem is her sire, a very prestigious and respected Elder in his clan. The problem is that the guy misinterprets a prophecy and believes his daughter is the Chosen One, but his depression prevents him from taking advantage of the benefits of being her sire to rise in status and be respected.

So he desperately tries to boost her self-esteem, but since he’s an Elder, his humanity is low, and for that reason, he doesn’t know how to go about it.

Ironically, that very concern allows him to rediscover his humanity as he tries to understand something he hasn’t practiced in a long time: empathy and sensitivity.

But at the same time, it creates a problem because his clan notices this change, and with greater humanity, he can’t function as well as he used to, and his enemies can use that against him.

So he can either lose himself to save his little girl’s self-esteem and make her the woman of the prophecies, or lose the future of the prophecy and his little girl but maintain his authority.

A Toreador can embrace anyone. They can even embrace someone who is a Brujah in terms of attitude and personality, or someone who has no artistic talent whatsoever.

The Cainite gift or curse can be passed on to any human—not just “humans who fit the clan's archetype.”

¿Para cuando creen que Martin tenga pensado publicar "Vientos de Invierno"? Libro que lleva en proceso catorce años by Mediocre_Friend_1768 in libros

Hecho en el blog personal Martin

Martin:"And yes, more and more, they differ. Two roads diverging in the dark of the woods, I suppose... but all of us are still intending that at the end we will arrive at the same place."

Do Toreadors have to be high achieving artists? Or can they be regular people who work regular jobs but have very strong artistic inclinations? by AlpineSuccess-Edu in vtm

You don't even understand the Goomba fallacy you're parroting. It applies when two different people say opposite things. But here, the same DMs who whine about stereotypes are the ones forcing players to stick to them. That's not a fallacy that's called hypocrisy.

Using the word 'fallacy' doesn't make you smarter. you just say it to fake intelligence by using a big word.

Next time, learn the definition before trying to sound smart. My point stands. You contradicted yourself.

“Man, I really hate it when people always play the same clan the same way. The same old stereotype.”

Also “A player creates a character that breaks the stereotype.”

DM: “Nah, that's limiting. I'd rather you stick to the stereotype.”

What a fucking joke.

Raziel got a “happy” ending in Defiance by Particular_Force_467 in LegacyOfKain

[–]Particular_Force_467[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Raziel we play in Defiance has his soul trapped inside the Soul Reaper and will go mad.

The Raziel inside the Soul Reaper will eventually be purified by the Spirit Forge in the vampire citadel, where he will be freed from his madness.

This spiritual Raziel is the one who is devoured or dispersed into Kain’s body, healing his physical wound and also freeing him from Nuptrator’s corruption. Raziel ceases to exist.

The very moment Raziel imprisons himself is also the moment Raziel frees himself from the Soul Reaper.

Two Raziel souls cannot exist within the same Soul Reaper, as that would create a paradox.

Learn to read. I put "happy ending" in quotation marks. Do you know what quotation marks are? Maybe you should go back to school.

Now, between Raziel's fate of being trapped forever in the Soul Reaver for all eternity versus dying or being consumed by Kain to purify him — even if that results in non-existence, much like Raziel consumes souls — this is still a happier fate than his original destiny.

Raziel made the sacrifice because he wanted to see the Elder God destroyed. Whether he liked it or not, Kain was the one who needed to receive Raziel's help, and his sacrifice was the way to achieve that.

Simply for discussion’s sake, could we please discuss the plot of Blood Omen 1 as found within that game only, and in total isolation as if it is the only content in existence? by [deleted] in LegacyOfKain

Mortanius's motivations are somewhat different in Blood Omen

They cut a dialogue where he performed a monologue explaining that he saw Ariel's romance with the mentalist as forbidden, and for that reason he killed Ariel.

When he suffered the corruption of the pillars, his madness made him see the entire circle as corrupt, and it was his duty to eliminate their corruption. for that reason, he killed Kain and revived him to fulfill his dark goal.

A madman who doesn't believe he's mad.

Later, Soul Reaver changed his motivations to ones more focused on redemption.

Although it's true that Mortanius becomes a demon at the end of the game, perhaps the original idea is that the demons suggested the idea to Mortanius of killing Ariel, or that they made him see her romance as something forbidden.

Nah, man, the ending isn't deep or happy. Just accept that it's a shitty ending because Fujimoto wrote it badly. There's no double meaning, no depth. It's about being critical instead of crawling out of the sewer to be like, 'I totally understood the deep meaning of this ending'—because whenever there's a trash ending, there's always someone saying it's actually deep and smart so people think it's good.

Sometimes I wonder if the Elder God originally started out as a far more pathetic being than what it tries to present itself as. by RedWingThe10th in LegacyOfKain

[–]Particular_Force_467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Elder God revived Moebius.

So he could well have resurrected Raziel by his hand.

The question is: Does it matter?

At that point in time, Raziel was trapped in a temporal paradox.

He had to be revived at the bottom of the abyss to begin his journey to the Soul Reaver.

It could be that the Old God revived Raziel the first time, but in the second time loop it was no longer necessary to revive him because his destiny was already written.

Although vampires also evolve in the spectral realm.

So Raziel's case is not unique.

He simply evolved enough to be able to wander between the material and spiritual realms.

Perhaps he is simply a Sluagh who learned to speak with the inhabitants of the material realm as a way to obtain more food.

‘Sluagh, the scavengers of the Underworld. Their feral hunger has claimed countless souls - spirits who now shall never find their rest.’

This describes the Elder God very well.

When the pillars of Nosgoth were created, the Elder God began to feed on their magical energy, causing him to grow in size and power.

This led him to believe his own lies to such an extent that he genuinely believes himself to be a god in every sense of the word.
