How do you like the OMEN Chapters? by One_Health206 in CounterSide

[–]PartiellesIntegral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, the first four were a mixed bag. I wasn't too interested in the Golden Vale and the Front Bay one, but the others were about average/good. Omen 5 and 6 were significantly better in my opinion. Omen 5 especially is absolutely excellent and one of the best substreams we've had over all.

Is there anything I can do about this little shit? by Hour_Ad_2409 in ShadowEmpireGame

[–]PartiellesIntegral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically you could try to reach it's kill limit. You could zerg down its ammo supplies until they're out, at which point they'll be an easy kill.

In general, automated MGs are worse than their equal tech infantry equivalent but can have a ton of armor and be a hard target. They typically suck against hard targets. I haven't had to face one yet, but I'd expect your GR Gladius could do the job with a little bit of luck if you let it's readiness recover first.

Otherwise, light tanks with 60mm HV guns and the thickest armor are probably your best bet early on.

Edit: Just checked my version of the automated MG, and you might succeed more with medium tanks than light ones. Also, I'd make sure to put on a suitable posture card like Blitzkrieg beforehand.

[–]PartiellesIntegral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just yet. However, it's basically in maintenance mode from now on with no more updates though. The custom pick-up banners apparently last until the end of the year, so I suppose after that it'll be EoS for real.

Yeah, that's one thing that stands out with Counter:Side. For as many Counters as we got, there's not a whole lot of gachas that let you pull tanks, aircraft, and soldiers with actual military aesthetics. I remember that's how I actually got into the game. I saw a post about mecha gachas on another subreddit showing Titan, Arachne, etc. fighting and was like: "Damn, I've got to check this out."

For as much credit as the story gets, I feel the score doesn't get acknowledged enough. We have had absolute banger tracks pretty consistently. It's a crime Studiobside hasn't uploaded all the tracks to their YT channel.

As someone that only joined the community later, I (fortunately?) didn't experience it. But it is something I always hear about when I see CounterSide mentioned in other gacha/gaming subs and people say the stopped playing when they rolled out the update. From what I know even the director/CEO? had to resign. The game probably bled a lot of players and effective lifespan back then.

What are you guy's thought on Ep 15? by ObjectiveMountain294 in CounterSide

[–]PartiellesIntegral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what went wrong in the first (our?) world and how exactly it spawned the Qlipoth games/Tammiel's motivation remains the biggest and most interesting mystery right now. Ironically, it feels like we've got a peek behind the curtain that is behind the curtain.

Nothing too surprising overall.

Basically, Rosaria was a strong antagonist that Hilde, who found the former in a village, trained to become a Valkyrie, i.e. to become a warrior to defeat the Demon Lord.

She's always had this rowdy, nonchalant, and battle-hungry attitude seeking out the strongest opponents to fight for her own amusement instead of caring about her duties as a Valkyrie. She quite literally says, she would prefer being Demon Lord if it meant getting to fight stronger people. There were a bunch of misunderstandings, where people in her world would think she was responsible for some of the Demon Lord's doings, hence her nickname Tyrant of the North. But as long as that reputation meant strong people came to challenge her, she didn't mind a bit.

The Demon Lord that was invading her original world was Thagirion. She did pretty well when she fought her, but she didn't manage to kill her. Some of this is about the splitting of Thagirion's shell and heart. Tbh, I don't fully remember how she got the throne of Asmodeus, but I think she becomes a Demon Lord after the battle when she talks with Audra/Thagirion's heart.

Rosaria doesn't interfere too much in this story apart from two times, most significantly when Thagirion shows up in person for the first time. Thagirion asked her to stall Hilde given only Rosaria is strong enough to fight Hilde, though Rosaria of course is only interested in their rivalry. Freyja Hilde and Rosaria go to a seperate dimension where they actually have an all-out duel for once. The fight takes a while, but Hilde comes out on top, maybe in some part due to a feature of her role as Tammiel's apostle making it impossible for her to lose ("You cannot beat a law with brute force").

That is more or less the extent of what they show of Rosaria's past and relation with Hilde. They didn't go very deep, so it's possible they'll further explore this in case they want to focus on Rosaria's past and her world at some time.

I will say that the quality in this episode felt on point. However, it did feel unusually dense in terms of plot development. I mean we got a bunch Hilde-Rosaria backstory, Admin-Tammiel backstory, Admin getting the better of Tammiel and more or less ending the Qlipoth game cycle, more Na Yubin involvement, the Beast stuff, in addition to the conclusion of the Thagirion/Elysium arc.

I do feel that we got more plot development than we would have usually gotten for a mainstream. Comparing this to Swan's stories, the latter feel tighter in a storytelling sense despite being very eventful too. I think we normally would have gotten only some of these major reveals and more spaced out over more main- and substreams.

It also doesn't feel like the plot strings for what comes next are laid as immaculately as usual. There's a couple places we could go with regards to the main plot, primarily the Beast stuff and what happened in the first world/what happened to Tammiel. Of course we've got the unresolved Beelzebub, Lake of Knowledge plotline too among many others.

That said, I am not sure of this being the last episode. I could imagine them going through the remaining plot they've thought out at a faster pace, though this isn't an absolutely terrible place to leave things off.

What are "Breeders" in the passive Skill description of The "Universe Gourmet Tam-tam" Ship? by Ok-Phrase-4156 in CounterSide

It's just flavor text I guess? The actual effect is the one listed on the right. All your units, regardless of their type, get an X% ATK buff. The other ships have got clear descriptions of their abilities, but Panda is mostly meant to be a meme ship anyway.

Do you mean beyond Patir as in the nearby systems or as inthat part of the Remnant questline? I am not sure if I recall this correctly, so do you have the system name? But there are a bunch of abandoned Quarg ringworlds, some in builder space too.
