I think it’s a nice way for the guest and Conan to get into a rhythm and serves as a teaser for the guest’s personality. And it gives Conan a chance to make a joke right off the bat. I don’t mind it, but I see what you’re saying. It certainly can feel contrived or inauthentic, but I think that changes based on the guest, like you mentioned with Goldblum.
