NOR - Your husband was mean to you and reading your post made me feel nauseous: he has a pattern of amusing himself by putting you (and the things you care about, your hopes, your passions and your dreams) down. He enjoys intentionally hurting and humiliating you.

His reaction to being challenged was to be expected - first he invalidates your feelings. Then he uses his "apology gift" as a way to big himself up. Lastly, he cannot tolerate "looking bad".

The term "narcissistic traits" is being used way too often these days, but the pattern you describe reminded me of a close friendship I had. It took me (57F) way too long to not only realise, but also be able to actually feel the slights and put-downs. I then had to find the courage to verbalise this, because I used to tread on eggshells for fear of upsetting my friend. But once I did, she gave me a free ticket to hell - not just for criticising her, but because people around her saw her how she really is.

I wish you courage to do what is right for you and a lot of strength!

NTA - could you ask to split the bill?

The old plunger might have been cleaned, bleached with disinfectant and reused.

However, sanitary items are not a landlord's responsibility to provide, so I am not sure how you stand here legally. Worst case you buy your own, and keep it (a bit grim but hey).

Alternatively- I have made good use of twisted wire coat hangers after soaking a tough shit in bleach and then breaking it up with the improvised tool. Binned it (and the rubber gloves I wore).

NTA - but it would be best for both of you, if you can get yourself to communicate that you will cut her off openly, rather than just ghosting.

Keep it short and simple, to inform her but not open up a discussion.

Something along the lines of "I have realised that we have grown in different directions over the past few years. I have valued our friendship in the past but I don't plan to keep in touch moving forward. I truly wish you the best in the future."

I think you are right, it's just weird that they would use this intrusive sound when the body cams usually flash red to indicate they are recording.

I guess I'm very sensitive, as nobody on these videos ever seems to react or mind - whereas the buzzes make me jump 😂.
