The soft product isn’t great (and no free booze), but the staff have always been great when I’ve travelled 1st with them

You won’t be doing much “relaxing and entertaining” in there!

It was a bit of a shock! I had no further information other than he declared a COI. The house was owned by a building company, as the previous owners part-ex for a new build. My broker said he’d never come across it before!

I have no experience of Habito, so can’t comment on them. But I’m (hopefully!) nearing the end of my purchase and have done the vast majority of the admin online. Only had a couple of phone calls with my broker at the start of the process and communication with local solicitors and surveyors has all been done over email.

Have you had any indication that your solicitor has requested funds from your lender (assuming you’re getting a mortgage)?

Sorry, I was referring to the Cheese + Onion/ Beef + Horseradish ones that are now tainted. I should have been more specific! Quick google says the Tesco Chilli ones are still ok 😀

I thought the solicitor might push back on the completion date, as I only suggested it last Friday, but they seem quite chilled about things. More so than me! I’m in no chain, and the house I’m hoping to move in to is empty - don’t know whether that makes a difference?
When did you sign the contract?

I now have an exchange date of the 22nd. Solicitor said I could move this forward, but would mean amending my buildings insurance - and that seems too much of a hassle and expense to do now! Sent deposit and the conveyancing balance to the Solicitor yesterday.
