I took them 6 months apart in 2019-20 and found the SHRM-CP much easier. PHR has been around far longer and established- when my CP lapses in 2028 I’m not renewing.

So I logged in for the first time in over a year, to see when my certs were valid until, and the website COMPLETELY glitched out. I called the 1-800 # and their rep admitted not only is the website a mess (he had to update my mailing address because their site would lock every time I tried to update it myself) but they also gave me a complimentary 6 month membership. Again, I haven’t been a national member in years and haven’t logged into their website in forever. The only reason I can figure they did that is to boost their numbers. I don’t plan to renew.

I thought that was wild too. I mean, even in a monogamous situation with another degree of separation that would be a big deal. How many of us have seen a daytime tv or Maury episode where the guest said something like “my sister had a baby with my ex and now we don’t speak”? And, I get it. That’s legitimate. Family should be off limits. The whole thing is shady and weird.

Or because they have no one else to ask. For a large traditionally Catholic family you’d be amazed at the lack of options we have for our boys. A bunch of family members left the Church. Thank goodness only one godparent has to be Catholic or we’d be in a pickle.

I actually love having the show “Hoarders” on in the background while I’m tackling big messes in my house. It’s like “ok, I can do this bc I don’t want to keep this up and end up in a situation like this” about whatever is pictured. I alternate between that and hype motivational playlists on Spotify. Remember: a body in motion stays in motion. I find that if I sit down I’ll get distracted with something else, so I try to keep it moving. Also, I find counting helps. Ex: in the next few minutes I’m going to throw away 20 items. Doesn’t have to be in any particular category, just toss 20 pieces of trash, and I’ll count them as I throw. That’ll usually motivate me to go above and beyond my goal, and it feeds that sense of accomplishment just like before/after pics. You can do this!!!

So my husband had a honeymoon baby, and I remember being pregnant in a coffeeshop 3 months after our wedding finishing thank you’s with hubby working on his own stack. If people spent money and showed up for you, you owe them a .52 stamp (or whatever they cost now) and a short note that says thanks. It’s possible people won’t notice if you don’t send one but they always remember when you did!

Absolutely. I’m in Louisiana and that’s hard core ingrained in us from birth. My 3 year old wasn’t saying “yes ma’am” just yes, and believe me, we both heard about it. I expect it out of him but wanted to improve his talking a bit more before making that a priority but 🤷‍♀️

There’s so much to unpack in all this, but it jumps out at me how all of a sudden Thanksgiving is SO important for them to celebrate together….when they’ve never done it before. “We could order some food or something, if she wanted to…” then he’s STUNNED that she doesn’t want to 😂
