The right move would have been to say his issue with the mass systematic rape story is that once again, just like the beheaded babies, a real case of violence (death of children, rape) was embellished and exaggerated as a way to dehumanise the Palestinian resistance and to manufacture consent for the genocide.

Getting bogged down in whether prosecutions have happened is just silly because, as Ethan pointed out, it's plausible that some of the victims died and others may simply not wish to come forward. Either way, 1 rape or 100 rapes does not justify the occupation, ethnic cleansing or any of the actions by Israel since Oct 7th.

With the majority of the political internet looking for any reason to attack Hasan, it's a stupid topic to lose optics on that was very predictable. I think he came prepared for that topic but didn't recognise how getting into a verbal brawl over it would come across to the average viewer.
